SCIENTIST-D (LIBRARY SCIENCE) : 1 Post - reserved for OBC(non creamy layer) ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: (i) Ph.D. in Library & Information Science with 4 (Four) years relevant experience or M.Lib./M.L.I.Sc. with 10 years relevant experience in a supervisory position. (ii) Evidence of innovative library services, published work and professional commitments. (iii) Experience in computerized library operations and networking or IT environment. PAY BAND : Rs.15,600-39,100 (PB-3) plus Grade Pay – Rs.7,600/AGE LIMIT: 45 years 2. SCIENTIST-B(COMPUTER SCIENCE) : 1 post – Reserved for OBC(non creamy layer) Essential Qualification : BE(Computer Science)/MCA PAY BAND : Rs.15600-39,100(PB-3) plus Grade Pay Rs.5,400/AGE LIMIT : 35 years 3. SCIENTIST-B(LIBRARY SCIENCE) : 2 posts - reserved for OBC(non-creamy layer) Essential Qualification : MLib/MLISc/Equivalent with 1(one) year experience. SCIENTIFIC & TECHNICAL OFFICER (LIBRARY SCIENCE) : 1 Post - Unreserved ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: (i) MLib/MLISc/equivalent OR B.Lib./B.L.I.Sc. with 8(eight) years relevant experience. (ii) Experience in computerized library operations and networking or IT environment will be preferred. PAY BAND : Rs.9,300-34,800 (PB-2) plus Grade Pay Rs.4,600/AGE LIMIT: 30 years JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LIBRARY & INFORMATION SCIENCE PROFESSIONALS: The incumbent will be a member of team of youn g library and information science pr ofessionals responsible for interacting with and assisting the university libraries in their computerization work, creation of machine readable databases, work ing knowledge of library automation software, creation and dev elopment of
digital libraries and in stitutional repositories, digitisation of library resources, bibliographic formats such as CCF, MARC21, etc. electronic publishing, knowledge of E-journal, e-book s, Web 2.0, Library 2.0 services and should be well-versed with applications of ICT and libraries. Besid es, the incumbent would be required to conduc t training programmes for libr ary professionals in c omputerized library operati on, arranging seminars/conferences/workshops etc. JOB DESCRIPTION FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE/ENGINEERING PROFESSIONALS : The incumbent will be the member of a team of y oung computer professionals involved in dev elopment of library related software and setting-up of network facilities. Th e candidate should possess good knowledge of modern proprietary and open sour ce operating system. He/she will be involved in development of various web-based services using development tools, creating and developing web content and its management and constantly evolving new tools and their application for Indian academic community. 5. ASSISTANT : 1 Post – reserved for OBC(non-creamy layer) ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with 3(three) years experience in the fiel d of Pur chase & Stores/Accounts/Establishment in a University/Govt./Autonomous body/reputed private firm. PAY BAND : Rs.5,200-20,200 (PB-1) plus Grade Pay Rs.2,400/AGE LIMIT: 30 years (35 years for central & state Govt. autonomous bodies, university employees) GENERAL CONDITIONS : 1.
