Six simple steps to become student savvy... Step 1: Be prepared – know what outcome you want. Step 2: Let the company know – tell the company you’re unhappy and give them a chance to fix it. Step 3: Keep a record – make a note of who you contact, when, and what they say. Step 4: Be patient – give the company a reasonable chance to sort it but don’t just let it drop.

Step 5: Escalate – look up the company’s complaints procedure online (or ask for it) and follow it. Step 6: Ombudsman Services – if your complaint isn’t sorted in eight weeks or you get a deadlock letter, contact us.
