WHAT TO EXPECT

Interested in contributing to the largest event on sustainability in the Middle East? Then we welcome you to The Student Exclusive! Hosted by the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, this event will feature an exciting program of creative activities, motivational speeches, discussions on sustainability, and interesting survey results to encourage students to be more involved in renewable energy and sustainability.

The Student Exclusive programme will welcome a wide pool of interesting speakers from different backgrounds. Based on their own personal experiences, they will demonstrate how sustainability can be factored into our everyday lifestyle. You are part of ‘Gen Z’. Have you ever wondered how other Gen Z feel about environmental issues? We will share with you the results of the Masdar-sponsored Global Youth Survey, which reveals the results of over 4000 students’ perception on climate change and current global issues. Also included are a variety of young performers who will share their talents with us. Some of our guests include: Parkour coach Amal Murad, Talent Development enthusiast Waheeda Al Hadhrami, and pianist Mona Alhashmi! We will also be welcoming back last year’s MC, Khalid Al Ameri! Stay tuned for upcoming updates on the agenda!

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW The Student Exclusive aims to: • Share thoughts on sustainability with you • Discuss some of the challenges that our world faces with you • Give you tips on how to improve your daily behaviour to make a difference Sustainability not only focuses on environmental factors, but also considers engaging with communities, continuously learning and innovating, and improving how we live our everyday lives.

In previous years, we were honoured to host several distinguished participants such as Omar Busaidy, Omar Dhiyabi, Rashed Al Harmoodi, and Abeer Amiri. Social columnist at Gulf Today, and motivational speaker, Khalid Al Ameri, was MC at The Student Exclusive in 2016. Singer / rapper and founder of the Akon Lighting Africa Initiative, Akon, also made a special appearance at last year’s event. Landfill Harmonic Orchestra, a talented group of young musicians played instruments made entirely of recycled materials.
