Development Office Assistant

Job Summary:

The Development Office Assistant provides administrative support to the Development Office.

Reports To:

Development Manager

Key Duties

1. Manage the donor database – data entry and editing; donor queries and reports; production and monitoring of all donor correspondence, using templates and/or original letters.

And Responsibilities:

2. Process financial and goods donations and generate thank you letters and receipts where appropriate. 3. With direction from the Development Manager, assist with coordination of three fundraising mail campaigns each year. 4. Perform general office duties, including managing routine phone calls, interoffice correspondence, filing, daily mail management. 5. As directed by the Development Manager and as time permits, assist with funding research and preparation of proposals. 6. As time permits, provide administrative support to the Development Manager. 7. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience:

This position requires a completion of a recognized office administration program (ie, 10-12 month course or equivalent.) A proven track record in office administration. A minimum of one-year recent related experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Excellent computer skills must include Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, Internet and Outlook. Knowledge of basic fundraising principles is preferred.

The position requires strong communication, organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to take initiative, manage your own workload and work both independently and as part of a team are critical. The Development Office Assistant will be required to maintain confidentiality regarding all donor information.
