Ltd. iMBA students visited two companies in October as a part of their iMBA coursework. During the first week i.e. 7th October 2016, the students visited Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) for the course, “Financial Report and Management”. Mr. Sompop Borvornsirawut Manager, Learning and Development, welcomed the students and briefed them the history of SCB followed by the cases illustrating the capital market and Investment. In addition, Ms. Kanokwan Chokepermpoon Senior Vice President, Credit Product Origination, discussed about dimensions of return expectations, risk tolerances and credit iMBA Students Batch 4 @ Siam Commercial Bank PCL., Head Office risk-management functions. The iMBA students also had a chance to learn about the principal of capital market and investment ranging from basic term deposits to credit portfolio management. On 12th October 2016, the iMBA Students visited Thai Asia Pacific Brewery Co., Ltd to learn the practical aspect of the course, “Marketing and Consumer Behavior”. The company visit started with a warm welcome speech and introduction by Mr. Tavisin Eamyodsin – Brewery Tour Ambassador. He presented the company history, the achievement stories and the companies’ marketing strategy. The tour of the beer production process with the modern production lines at factory was impressive. After the plant facility tour, the students were invited to join the beer tasting session, which consisting of four selected premium types beers of the company. iMBA Students Batch 4 @ Thai Asia Pacific Brewery Co. The company visits gave the students an opportunity to apply the theory learned in class to the real practice on understanding the aspects of their coursework. The company visit program was remarkably valuable as the student profoundly acknowledged learning from the visits.

CRD is a training institute which aims to provide the community with valuable development training accredited by Government and international body and valuable information in Myanmar. The delegates were impressed by the PIM work-based-education system an interested to learn more about the International Programs offered by PIM.

The 5th Business talk series on the topic of “Marketing and Consumer behavior” was held successfully on 27th October 2016 with an objective to provide students with a deeper understanding of marketing insights and consumer psychological behaviors. The special interactive talk show from our guest speaker, Mr. Roger Tan – Chief Sales Officer, Do Day Dream Co. Ltd, was the highlight of the event. He started the event by addressing the differences between “Consumers vs. Shoppers” and opened the floor for further discussion. It was an interactive discussion, where the students had a chance to discuss multiple opinions on the topic.

But in the fight to stay innovative, many marketers lost sight of what really matters: truly understanding their audience. With so many marketers focusing on big data and analytics, it was time for the companies to take a step back and consider the customer insights. To find out the valuable information, marketers needed to start exploring the motivation behind customer behavior instead of strictly reading metrics that only tell some parts of the story. Mr. Tan further emphasized on understanding the shoppers’ behavior by thinking and shopping around like shoppers.

The main points of this talk series was; 1) the reason to According to Mr. Tan, the face of marketing looked entirely emphasize on consumer’s insights, 2) the role & importance different from it was even only a few years ago, and mastering of consumer vs. shopper, 3) the importance of channel the latest trends had become an ongoing struggle for marketers. intermediaries in product distribution, and 4) the international marketing strategy of Do Day Dream Co. PIM’s Assistant to the President– Ms. Parichart Buakao together with Deputy Executive Director– Ms. Tanarat Teeratanakiat set off on their journey to Yangon, Myanmar from 4th to 7th of October with an objective to strengthen engagement with educational institute and partner corporation to explore new opportunity for the future collaboration. Throughout the trip, our executives from PIM received the opportunity to visit many dignitaries of various organizations, International Schools and Universities. The visit was believed to foster stronger ties between Educational Institute/Corporate and increase the visibility of Panyapiwat Institute of Management in Myanmar.
