As of the 1st July 2018, the new requirements (of a minimum score of 7.0 on IELTS on each individual modules or equivalent) have come into effect. We have been able to enrol and fill up all available seats for Diploma of Nursing for the year 2018 at both of our campuses Sydney and Brisbane who could commence under the previous English Requirements. The students have commenced studying in world class simulated Nursing Labs at both of these campuses that would equip them with the required practical skills of the real time Nursing environment.

Changes to Accounting Packages Every now and then the Department of Education keeps updating training packages of different courses to ensure they meet the requirements of the industry. Likewise, the Diploma of Accounting (FNS50215) and Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60215) is superseded and the new qualifications in force are Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (FNS40217), Diploma of Accounting (FNS50217) and Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60217). Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (FNS40217) is now a pre-requisite to study Diploma of Accounting (FNS50217). They are currently on offer at our Sydney and Brisbane campuses.

Student Recruitment and Marketing Initiatives Marketing Trips to South America, Philippines, Nepal and Sri Lanka Trip to South America Our International Marketing team has its ante up in the last six months and have been travelling extensively. Marketing Trips were scheduled to South America to begin with, where Ms. Andrea Ferengrino had visited Mexico and Brazil. She represented Queensford in an event in Mexico, which was one of the biggest events that happen each year in Mexico. Likewise, she visited and interacted with several Education Agencies to help promote Queensford College and its courses.

Trip to the Philippines Next in line was a Marketing and Recruitment Trip to Philippines, where several provinces were visited to meet agents and students. One of the highlights of the trip was an event organized by one of our very good agents ENZ Education Consultancy, at a prominent university in Laoag (A city in the province in Ilocos Norte of Philippines) which was graced by more than 300 students. It was with great pride we could showcase Queensford College and what it has to offer for students coming from Philippines. We have seen a very good growth in student numbers from the Philippines Market.

Trip to Nepal A Marketing Trip to Nepal was one of the most awaited trips of the first half of 2018. Our team managed to travel extensively in Nepal not restricting themselves to Kathmandu but to Chitwan, Butwal, Pokhara to name a few. Seminars were conducted for prospective students across numerous locations. We also had the pleasure of organising a group agent training meet in Chitwan, with more than 50 agents making themselves available for the training session. Our team met a lot of existing and new agents, trained the agents staff, counselled numerous students and the results are already showing up. Wrapping the Nepal Event was a big Agent Information Session held at Hotel Shangrilla in Kathmandu that was attended by more than 200 guests. Queensford acknowledges the support and the hardwork agents put in to recruit students, thus few of our top performing agents were duly recognized for their performance and support to Queensford College and were honored on stage with awards.

Trip to Sri Lanka With a good response and success from students and agents in Sri Lanka, it was time for us to visit the beautiful Island. The trip was promising and gave lots of insights into the education system and the way students perceive things. We managed to meet a good number of agents and students in Colombo and we look forward to visiting again this year.

Participation in Barrio Fiesta and many Onshore Agent Expos

Not stopping at International Travel and leaving no stone unturned, our International Team has been busy with a lot more activities onshore in Australia as well to promote Queensford. Our team participated in Barrieo Fiesta (an event organized commemorating Philippines Independence Day which is on 12th June each year.) Our Team has attended numerous onshore Agent Expos across Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide. They made several trips Interstate to meet the Agents and update them about our courses and promotions which has been paying off in terms of the increasing student numbers.

This July we’ve experienced the biggest intake in the history of Queensford College with over 250+ International Students Looking for a reason to study at Queensford College? With students from over 50 different nationalities, experience a multicultural environment to study and thrive in. Agent Training Risk Level Changes

The risk level changes as per the SSVF has happened on 1st April 2018, while we’ve been aggressively recruiting offshore Queensford College has managed to remain on Risk Level 2. Our core focus has always been offshore student recruitment from different parts of the world and we ensure stick to our basic principles of assessing the genuineness of a student which has always helped us to be consistent with our approach. The next revision of the Risk Level happens on 1st October 2018 and we will remain t Risk Level 2 for the period of 1st October 2018 - 32st March 2019.

As circulated previously, it’s very vital for students to meet GTE requirements when lodging their student visa and we like to reiterate the fact that students are expected to be on the top of their GTE/ SOP statement. Before lodging, verify the final SOP of student of their intention to why to they want to study vocational rather than higher education program. If you are unsure, please refer back to cheat sheets.

Webinars Being Conducted On a regular basis our Marketing and Admissions Team had been conducting country specific webinars covering different aspects of student recruitment, requirements, our courses etc there by increasing agent awareness about the programs we offer and ensuring they counsel the student/s appropriately and also map the courses apt to the students background. The webinars also focus on what aspects need to be covered on the GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) Statements and what not. This is a part of our agent engagement and training process that has been paying off as we look at the overall quality of applications we have been receiving that has improved over time.

Agent Quiz We want our agents to be current with the ever-changing criteria and regulations all the time as this will enable for them to guide students accurately. We initiated an Education Agent Knowledge Quiz for our agents to see how up-to-date are they with the changes in the industry, the data pooled showed varied results. Some of them were identified as totally up to date, a few we have identified needed to be trained, this resulted in we organizing Webinars as we want our agents to be trained and informative at all times with the most accurate information possible. We have noticed few of the agents have not taken the Quiz yet, we will highly appreciate if you can take the test and also advise your staff/ staff at branch offices to take the test, it will help us identify the gaps and improve our services/training that we may need to impart to you and your staff View Quiz here: http://bit.ly/2JugaMJ

Student Arrival in Australia As you all are aware Queensford has three campuses across Australia: Brisbane, Adelaide and Parramatta. As our Business Partners you are also aware of the courses that we offer at each of these campuses. It is very vital for the students to choose the right campus for their study at the time of enrolment. We have been experiencing increasing number of students who applied to study at one campus and landing at a different campus location. Kindly note, doing this may put the students visa itself at risk at the port of entry into Australia and students might be sent back. To avoid all this, please advise your students to come to the campus allocated or applied for or in exceptional cases discuss with the admissions team to avoid such situations. As our partners we require you to assist and advise the students against any actions that could jeopardize their students visa if arriving at the wrong point of entry.

Updates From Our Accounts Department Invoices

We expect our clients to provide as much possible information on the invoices so as to smoothly process the request. Also please ensure if your account held overseas is an AUD account, we have received feedback from clients that if the account held is not an AUD account and when transfer is made from our side, a lot of money is lost in conversion. Please check with your bank on this. Likewise, forms are updated on regular basis, please advise students to use the latest forms if applying for a refund, failing which may cause in unnecessary delays.

Student Reference Numbers

We receive numerous tuition fee deposits on a daily basis. For us to identify and allocate the deposit to a particular student, its ideal for student to provide Queensford Student ID as a reference when depositing. (please note when transferring tuition fee from overseas, the amount of money shown up on our bank account is a little less than the total amount transferred as the bank charges a transaction fee, to make it easier to identify the transaction, our team appreciates if you can advise.

Installments and Direct Debit

Please advise students of the installment plans mentioned on the offer letter so that they are prepared to pay the installments when they start. We encourage our students to pay their installments by direct debit and we are happy to provide them with lowered installment payments.

Cheat Sheets Now Available To keep our agents and their staff abreast of what we are offering, we have been training our agents on a regular basis. Our training modes include and not limited to face to face training at Queensford or agents offices, webinars, through email communications and also have developed a entry requirements and procedure cheat sheet for agents for different countries (Nepal/India, Philippines, Sri Lanka). Queensford as a Team Celebrating 10 Years With 10 Causes

To celebrate Queensford College’s 10 Year Anniversary, our staff are teaming up to support 10 causes. Throughout the year, we have and will be continuing to do so hosting a number of events and initiatives to raise funds and awareness for a cause that we care about.

At Queensford College, our trainers are not only qualified educators but experienced industry professionals who maintain connections within the industry to train our students with the best possible current knowledge. With the spotlight on our senior hospitality trainer, Stephen Furlong, he was captured judging at the Nestle Golden Chef’s Hat Competition whilst adhering to the guidelines set by the Australian Culinary Federation for junior chefs.

Students from around the world who completed studying at Queensford College had a chance to graduate in the presence of their family and friends. We received an overwhelming response from our students who were interested in graduating. To accommodate the students, two Graduation Ceremonies were held on two different days. Students received their awards and were seen clicking photos with their loved ones. The students and their families/friends were treated with a buffet lunch prepared by our very own Commercial Cookery Students who did a marvelous job in showcasing what they have learnt studying Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (092402J). We look forward to hosting more and more such Ceremonies.
