1 Semester 2015 - Brussels (Belgium) The CPMR Atlantic Arc Commission is looking for a highly motivated intern, available preferably Mid-January or 2nd February 2015 until end of July 2015 in Brussels (Belgium). Main Functions: Participate in the day-to-day tasks of the Atlantic Arc Commission Secretariat Starting date & duration: Mid-January or beginning of February 2015 until 31 July 2015 Location: 14, Rond Point-Schuman – Brussels (Belgium) Remuneration: around 436€ a month (under French law) - University training agreement necessary Deadline for application: 01/12/2014 - Interviews planned 18-19 December 2014 (Brussels or by Skype) The Atlantic Arc Commission (www.arcatlantique.org) brings together 19 Regional authorities among 5 Member States. It is one of the six Geographical Commissions of the Conference of Peripheral and Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR www.cpmr.org), a network of 150 Regional authorities from 28 States. It operates both as a think tank and as a lobby for Regions. The CPMR is a unique organisation, being sub-divided into six Geographical Commissions, corresponding to the European maritime basins, such as the Baltic sea, the North sea, the Atlantic Arc, the Mediterranean, the Balkan and Black sea and the islands. The Atlantic Arc Commission has its own secretariat within the CPMR, composed of the Executive Secretary (coordinator) and a part time policy assistant. The Atlantic Arc team is fully integrated in the CRPM General Secretary, which counts 21 people in Rennes (FR) and Brussels (BE) mainly. Key tasks: Provide support to the Executive Secretary of the Atlantic Arc Commission by carrying out the following tasks: -

Policy monitoring, particularly in the following areas: Macro-Regions, territorial cooperation policy, Marine Renewable Energies, R&I, Maritime and Fisheries policies, Transport accessibility, etc. Participation and notes taking for the CPMR Atlantic Arc Commission in meetings (European Parliament, Committee of the Regions, etc.) Following up the Atlantic Maritime Strategy

Monitoring new calls for proposals (Interreg, Cosme, Life+, H2020) / possible participation in ongoing EU funded cooperation projects or participation in the drafting of applications

Liaising with the Atlantic Arc Commission members : 19 Regional authorities from PT, ES, FR, EN, IE Organising working group meetings or seminars in Europe Logistic support to the CPMR team in Brussels (7 people)

Knowledge, experience, interests and skills: -

University degree in a relevant area (European affairs, law, political science, maritime, etc.) Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken), working proficiency of at least 2 of the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French. Interest in maritime related policies and/or regional policy

Experience/knowledge in project management and event organisation is a plus Strong interpersonal skills and positive team player Willingness to travel abroad
