Key responsibilities We are developing a commercial system for immunohistochemistry. The working principle is based on the distribution of reagents on a tissue sample placed on a microscope slide through a microfluidic chip. Functional models of the microfluidic chip and of the device have to be tested and improved. In this framework, we are looking for a motivated intern for performing the following tasks: (i) Participation to the design, mounting and testing of functional models and prototypes (ii) Improvement of the LabVIEW software for communication with the electronics (iii) Development and tests of new methods of use of the system At the end of the project, the student will have had a first experience in the development of an industrial device based on microsystems.
Profile The student has prior knowledge in an engineering field (Physics, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials science and engineering, Microengineering or Bioengineering), strong analytical skills and ease to adapt to new environments. He is a fast-learner and enthusiastic about learning new techniques from different fields and working in a multidisciplinary environment. Prior knowledge in microfluidics and/or LabVIEW programming is a plus.
