Lunaphore Technologies is a start-up company active in the medtech field developing a product based on a microfluidic technology to analyze tissue samples for cancer diagnostics. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to join us at EPFL Innovation Park and contribute directly to the development and growth of the company. Key responsibilities We are developing a commercial system for immunohistochemistry. The working principle is based on the distribution of reagents on a tissue sample placed on a microscope slide through a microfluidic chip. Functional models of the microfluidic chip and of the device have to be tested and improved. In this framework, we are looking for a motivated intern for performing the following tasks: (i) Participation to the design, mounting and testing of functional models and prototypes (ii) Improvement of the LabVIEW software for communication with the electronics (iii) Development and tests of new methods of use of the system At the end of the project, the student will have had a first experience in the development of an industrial device based on microsystems.

Profile The student has prior knowledge in an engineering field (Physics, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials science and engineering, Microengineering or Bioengineering), strong analytical skills and ease to adapt to new environments. He is a fast-learner and enthusiastic about learning new techniques from different fields and working in a multidisciplinary environment. Prior knowledge in microfluidics and/or LabVIEW programming is a plus.
