Korea Sparkling Tour [14 Days] Apr 2015

Highlights of Japan And Taiwan Oct 2015

Dear Mandarin World Tours,

Hi Navy,

Good morning Jenny,

We have thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Masumi has-been excellent, Such a delight, she worked tirelessly everyday to make sure our needs were met. some of the days, Particularly 31Mar was very jam packed and we where unable to spend as much time as we would liked in some areas due to the busy time of the year.

I must write our congratulations on a wonder organized tour which could not be faulted, all pick up times were noted and never at any time did we have to reconfirm at the hotel tour desk, the hotels by the way were all excellent in every city and town. Most impressive was the amount of infrastructure by Korea in building in the highway system, going through mountains by way of tunnel after tunnel after tunnel.

I trust 2016 will be an excellent and very successful New Year for you and MW Tours. I am deeply sorry by not getting back to you soon after my return from Japan and Taiwan. The trip was fantastic and we had a such a beautiful time and thoroughly enjoy the two countries.

Overall though, we really did enjoy Japan & hope to return to experience more of These lovely people and culture. This tour has been great value for money & we would not hesitate to recommend your company to our friends. Thank you to Navy as well for your help and knowledge! Our driver was wonderful, I Showed His experience so many times.

As I wrote earlier the tour was most interesting the first 3 days with the charming ‘Mena’ who made sure we got to Gimhae airport to join our flight to Jeji. We would like to return in the Spring when the cherry blossoms and Azalea’s are in bloom.

The organisation was just perfect and the quality of the hotels and the activities included in the package were just great. Also having time on our was very good as we had the opportunity to explore and see more of the cities and sites around Japan and Taiwan. I shall come by and say hello next time I visit Brisbane.

Thank you to all in helping our journey to Japan one we will not forget! Jillian & David Shields SA

Keep up the good work. Noel Flor

Discover Korea & Taiwan Tour [15 Days] Jun 2016

Hi Cecilia,

Hello Jenny

Both my husband and I have just returned from our South Korea trip. We had an amazing time and would like to thank you for introducing us to this tour. Our tour guide Justin Choi was fantastic and he did very well explaining about the history and facts. Please send me any upcoming tours when there’s any promotions.

Just wanted to let you know the Tour to South Korea & Taiwan was great (arrived home Wednesday). Everything went really well, we had a lovely lady Guide for Korea and gentlemen guides in Taiwan and they all did a very good job looking after us all. There were 31 of us on the Korea Tour for the 1stys then 10 left to go off somewhere else. In Taiwan there were just 4 of us, so we were travelling with 2 lovely people from the US (South Dakota) a Grandmother of 73 and her 23 year old Grand-daughter, we all got on really well, enjoyed each others’ company and had a great time.

Thank you Johanna

Best Wishes Robert Valera

We loved both Countries, Korea was different to any other Asian Country that we had visited, we found Seoul and Taipei to be very nice cities and our Hotels were in good locations. In fact all the Hotels were very good, no complaints at all. In fact the whole Tour went very well, we were picked up from Airports and Hotels on time and were always informed what was happening, and there was plenty of communication and confirmation of arrangements. We have done quite a few Tours over the years and were very happy with this one, wouldn’t hesitate to use this company again. I will fill out the survey soon and send it off to you. Kind regards, Kathy from Victoria

Introduction to Japan

Japan is situated in north eastern Asia between the North Pacific and the Sea of Japan. The area of Japan is 377,873 square kilometres, nearly equivalent to Germany and Switzerland combined or slightly smaller than California. With total population of 127 million, Japan is covered by four major islands: Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu and surrounded by more than 4,000 smaller islands. Among the vibrant green of the mountains, amidst the fluttering cherry blossom petals, within the transition of the four seasons, people see colours. Within characters painstakingly written by brush, in Japanese-style homes fragrant of wood, in tableware that colours the dining table, people admire shapes. Japan’s colours and shapes are messages that convey spirit and culture

Tokyo is the capital of Japan, and the place where over 12 million people live, making it one of the most populous cities in the world. When the Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu established a government there in the early 17th century, the area started to develop, spreading out around his residence, Edo Castle. Fukuoka

Fukuoka is situated in the northern extremity of Kyushu, facing the Sea of Suo to the northeast, the Sea of Genkai to the northwest, and the Sea of Ariake to the southwest. As the prefecture borders the Korean Peninsula to the continent of China with a strait in between, Fukuoka was the first place in Japan to be exposed to the culture of the continent. Ever since the Government-General of Kyushu, Dazaifu, was set up in the 7th century, Fukuoka has grown as the hub of the Kyushu region.

Kyoto

Kyoto became the capital of Japan in the 8th century. It flourished as the centre for Japanese politics, economy and culture for some 1,1w00 years, until the capital functions were transferred to Tokyo in the mid-19th century. Sapporo is best known outside Japan for hosting the 1972 Winter Olympics, the first ever held in Asia, and for the annual Yuki Matsuri in the city, internationally referred to as the Sapporo Snow Festival, which draws more than 2 million tourists from around the world. The city is also home to Sapporo Brewery and the famous white chocolate biscuits “White Lovers” exclusively sold in Hokkaido.

Kobe

Kobe is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyogo Prefecture on the southern side of the main island of Honshu, approximately 30 km west of Osaka. The earliest written records regarding the region come from the Nihon Shoki, which describes the founding of the Ikuta Shrine by Empress Jingu in AD 201.

Hiroshima

Hiroshima is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture, and the largest city in the Chugoku region of western Honshu, the largest island of Japan. It became best known as the first city in history to be destroyed by a nuclear weapon when the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) dropped an atomic bomb on it at 8:15 A.M. on August 6, 1945, near the end of World War II. Hiroshima gained city status on April 1, 1889. On April 1, 1980, Hiroshima became a designated city. The city’s current mayor since April 2011 is Kazumi Matsui.

Yokohama

Yokohama is the capital city of Kanagawa Prefecture and the second largest city in Japan by population after Tokyo and

most populous municipality of Japan. It lies on Tokyo Bay, south of Tokyo, in the Kanto region of the main island of Honshu. It is a major commercial hub of the Greater Tokyo Area. Yokohama’s population of 3.6 million makes it Japan’s largest incorporated city. Yokohama developed rapidly as Japan’s prominent port city following the end of Japan’s relative isolation in the mid-19th century, and is today one of its major ports along with Kobe, Osaka, Nagoya, Hakata, Tokyo, and Chiba.

Kanazawa

Kanazawa is an important city in the Hokoriku Region and serves as the capital of Ishikawa Prefecture. Kanazawa is part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network and is a City of Crafts and Folk Art, boasting many historical attractions and is renowned for traditional handicrafts and traditional performing arts. Kanazawa’s main attraction is Kenroku-en Garden, one of Japan’s top three gardens.

Takayama

Takayama is nestled high in the mountainous Hida alpine region of Japan. It has retained a traditional atmosphere unlike many other Japanese cities, especially in the beautifully preserved old town. It is the perfect location to soak in hot spring baths (onsen), after a long day of sightseeing.

Sendai

Sendai City, situated in the centre of Miyagi Prefecture, is the largest city in the Tohoku region. It has prospered as the capital since Date Masamune reigned over this district and built Aoba Castle at the beginning of the 17th century. Introduction to Korea

Korea is a country of two distinct aspects, the traditional and historic as well as the sleek and the new. The country is determined to leave its troubles behind and has entered the new millennium with a renewed optimism and passion. Despite the ever widening gap between these two, the former has not completely displaced the latter. These days most towns consist of a new, fashionable area, where discos, karaoke bars, coffee shops and stores sell a variety of goods – everything from designer-label clothing to freshly baked French bread. But in these same towns you will also find the old Korea ; street markets formed in an intriguing maze where vendors sell everything from food, fruits, vegetables and seafood just as they have done for hundreds of years before. Korea has much to offer, the avid traveler and many believe it to be the unspoiled gem of Asia. It possesses largely untouched natural landscapes, a vibrant history with traditional culture and local people who are friendly, welcoming and curious.

The town is a virtual open air museum, housing a seemingly endless array of tombs, temples, shrines, castles and gardens. Further inland, the mountains are surrounded by thousands of Buddhist statues and frescoes.

Panmunjeom The village of Panmunjeom is located 56kms north of Seoul and is the site of the ceasefire line following the Korean War in 1953, hence earning it a nickname of ‘truce village’. It is the only place in the DMZ where visitors are permitted as well as being situated at a close distance to North Korea.

Busan is Korea’s second largest city and principal port with ferries departing to Jejudu Island and Japan. The city is located between a series of mountain peaks and ridges, with the town 26
