IRAQ MONTHLY UPDATE NOVEMBER 2015
Livelihoods
NOVEMBER HIGHLIGHTS:
NEEDS ANALYSIS:
In November UNDP provided tailored support to establish and scale-up 20 small and medium-sized businesses owned by Syrian men and women in both camp and non-camp settings. In addition around 230 Syrian refugees, IDPs and members of the host community benefited in November from vocational trainings in the areas of sewing, hairdressing, electrician training, computer-skills trainings and as well as from language trainings in English and Kurdish.
While continued humanitarian relief is needed for the most vulnerable refugees, IOM is also strongly emphasizing the need for enhancing beneficiaries’ self-reliance, by providing them with income generation activities and training to increase their employability.
