Creating more efficient solutions? Developing more robust and higher quality products? How do you minimize the potential
The New Innovation Algorithm: Is Your Organization Ready for the Internet of Things? It is estimated that more than 2.5 quintillion bytes of data are created each day. While a large percentage of this data is not mission critical for those managing product development projects, the sheer quantity of "noise" makes it challenging to sort out what is meaningful. Product development has always been an information intensive activity. From the initial insight through commercialization, the process is driven by information. Every phase of product development generates knowledge and data. The extent to which the relevant knowledge and data is shared and connected to other functions/organizations (both inside or external) is often a key differentiator between success and failure. But what happens when the products and services themselves are generating, collecting and analyzing data? Is it a panacea where facts and data replace informed guesswork and intuition? How do you sort out the data that is meaningful? What is the real value of this data?
