It is less than two weeks until the end of term and we are still very busy! Great to see so many students taking part in sports, musical activities and trips - thank you to staff for your time and commitment. We are looking forward to Christmas Jumper Day next Friday, the Christmas Concert on December 19th and the final day assembly on December 21st. The academy will then close to all students at 12.30 and we will return on Monday 8th January for all staff and students. Can I take this opportunity to wish you a peaceful Christmas and a joyful New Year. Thank you for your support in 2017 and we look forward to seeing more of you in 2018.
Modern Foreign Languages Last week Mrs Pringle & Mrs El Khaddar took a class of Y11 students to the Christmas Markets to meander round taking in the sights, sounds and smell of Manchester during the festive season. Students took the opportunity to practice their Spanish & German (along with a spot of Polish) by talking to stall holders in their mother tongue whilst sampling the tasty delights on offer i.e. .crêpes, hot chicken sandwiches, pizza and peri peri cheese! Not wanting to miss out, Mrs El Khaddar and Mrs Pringle made a beeline for the hot chocolate stall and treated themselves to a 2017 Winter Market mug. Everyone had a brilliant time and the MFL department plan to make this an annual event. Merry Christmas – Joyeux Noel – Ifeliz Navidad!
DMSF Hub A Christmas party should be a pretty lively affair and last Friday Bex and her team celebrated in style. She clearly pushes the kids to perform to the best of their ability so last week they well and truly earned the right to let their hair down and go a little crazy. 104 members of the club arrived to the sounds of DJ Tiny and no-one was afraid to show their delight as they danced all night. As Bex would say 'BOOM' #saynomore
