CRAVIA KICKSOFF 2017 WITH ‘MISSION POSSIBLE 2.0’ The Cravia family came together once again to celebrate another year of success at the company’s annual kick-off event. Around 145 representatives from Cravia senior management, its business partners and sponsors attended the exciting day filled with activities, which took place on December 10th at the luxurious Ritz Carlton JBR. This year’s theme focused on “Time to believe.” With our new successful partnerships in 2016, we want to celebrate the achievements and make the team believe in the path we have chosen. The fun-filled event took the team to outer-space and made it a Mission Possible for Cravia. The annual kick-off event was the perfect opportunity to show how teamwork really can generate fantastic results. It allows the company to focus on its achievements and gives everyone the chance to have a bit of fun together!

CRAVIA SPORTS DAY EVENT Team building in a sports environment encourages fun, interaction, and bonding, and allows for maximum participation by all involved. To promote sportsmanship within the group we organized this year’s Sports Day event at InSportz Club, Al Quoz, on November 22, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event consisted of 7 tournaments, including Football, Cricket, Bowling, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton and Table Tennis. ZWZ, CNB, SBC, TSB and the Office teams competed with each other for trophies and medals. The atmosphere was charged with energy, and the competition was friendly but strong. Each participant had a great time playing and bonding with teammates and enjoyed being part of the dynamic activities. The winning teams got to take home trophies and gold medals. The runners up received silver medals. The sports day never fails to entertain and amuse!

CRAVIA HR TEAM KICK-OFF AT LUNCH Cravia hosted another special lunch kick-off for the HR team on 15th December at Cheese Cake Factory. After all, the team that eats together stays together.
SWEET CHARITY TO MARK THE BLUE COLLAR LABOR DAY To mark a special day for thousands of blue collar employees, Cinnabon participated and distributed free rolls at the mega carnival organized by EFS Facilities Management at King’s School in Al Barsha, Dubai. Around 2,500 employees from 35 different nationalities gathered to take part in the annual event aimed at recognizing its workers’ achievements. The fun-filled evening saw games, performances and a raffle draw, thoroughly enjoyed by the men and their families.
CINNABON AT GEMS METROPOLE SCHOOL OPEN DAY Cinnabon helped students and parents fuel up on delicious rolls and drinks at Gems Metropole School, Motor City, Open Day on November 26 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. 8
CINNABON REOPENS IN MEGA MALL, SHARJAH Visitors to Mega Mall, Sharjah, can now enjoy delicious Cinnabon rolls in a newly refurbished setting. Cinnabon reopened in the Mall on December 22nd to serve customers their favorite Cinnabon products following an extensive upgrade to their facilities.
CINNABON & SBC AT DUBAI SILICON OASIS AUTHORITY Cinnabon & SBC made the 45th National Day celebration even special for the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority employees. We installed a make-shift Cinnabon outlet at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority office and added sweetness to this day of pride.
SBC & CINNABON SERVED HELLO KITTY FANS SBC & Cinnabon served delicious hot rolls and beverages to 5,000 Hello Kitty fans running in a chillaxed 5km run at Zabeel Park on December 9th, 2016.

LOUAY’S COLUMN YOU ARE THE STARS Time does fly by. Within the business world, so much can happen in a year. All types of changes and challenges, not to mention pressure and an ever-changing business environment. At cravia, we have experienced many changes and lived through business cycles. Change is inevitable and part of doing business. We are always keen to understand these business cycles and be able to adapt and stay focused on the “need of the moment.” Beyond the business fundamentals, I believe that we have the best brands and our customers love us. This is such a key point. We have built equity over the years through providing great products and amazing service. Our Cinnabon rolls are indulgent and world class. Our Zaatar w Zeit menu is fantastic. Our team is hospitable and works with enthusiasm and a genuine care for the customers. All your hard work and dedication have helped us become “simply the best.” We must focus on the fundamentals of the business. We must continue to make the best products in the world; we must keep our stores sparkling and must always care from our heart. These fundamentals will help us shine in any environment. MAURICE’S COLUMN Regardless of our role scope, We all face customers on a regular basis, and sometimes, that’s all what we do! Hence, it is important to develop our customer awareness competency in every way possible. “A Customer Is Anyone Who Isn’t Me!” Craviapedia is happy to introduce its newest program added to our quarterly calendar; Customer Service Recovery (CSR) and it’s the “bestest” so far!(as the new term introduced by our Chairman Mr. Walid) It is needless to say, customers are people, and people are different. People behave differently; act in different ways towards others or situations, individuals have different expectations and perceptions. In general, humans have individual likes and dislikes, preferred flavors and acquired palate, needless to say that this list can go on and on… In other words, exactly the same product or service may be perceived as being good or poor, depending upon the customer’s expectations and perceptions. CSR is designed to empower Cravians with the right mindset and equip them with proven effective tools to understand their customers better than ever before, comprehend and manage their guests expectations; and inevitably handle their complaints whenever encounter ones. When you are building a culture of excellent service within your team, take heart! It’s not a mystery or magical science. Great service cultures are the results of deliberate effort, genuine passion, in-depth service knowledge and continuous commitment to improve. CSR will help you gain them all. WALL OF FAME - OCTOBER & NOVEMBER DEAR TEAM, Hope all of you are doing well. The year is coming to a close and we are all very excited as we embark on a voyage of discovery in 2017 and beyond. As you may of heard, we are changing the wall of fame program and updating our cheer. I will announce both of these in the newsletter very soon. Within the context of development and aligning our organizational resources for future growth, we have implemented the following: Mr. Mahmoud Harb is now responsible for the operation of Cinnabon/SBC/ Carvel brands. Mahmoud has been with Cravia for over a decade and has proven himself in the development and growth of the Zaatar w Zeit brand. Mahmoud has been a key asset, and this new role is a natural extension of his abilities and skills. Mahmoud will continue to be responsible for Zaatar w Zeit. We wish Mahmoud the best in his new role and the best of success. Mr. Marwan Kandeel is now responsible for the operations of Five Guys Burgers and Fries in the eastern province of KSA as well Qatar and Bahrain. Marwan has been a shining star for Cravia over the past fifteen years and has been iconic in the development of the Cinnabon/SBC/Carvel brands across the UAE. We are very appreciative of his efforts and look forward to continued excellence with the Five Guys brand. Mr. Edmond Cabaltica is now the Cinnabon/SBC/Carvel operations manager. Also, a true icon of the brand over the past fifteen years. His passion and hard word have paid off. We are very excited for Edmond in his new role and wish him the absolute best. Edmond will report to Mahmoud Harb.
Mrs. Taline Kastanian will be handing the Zaatar w Zeit operations in her capacity as the operations manager. Taline has been a true pillar since the brand’s inception and has proven her ability through leading the team and elevating the brand standards. We wish Taline the best in her new role.
Mr. Alaa Shalak will be handling the Zaatar w Zeit operations in his role as the operations manager. Alaa has also been a key pillar in driving our delivery growth within the call center and in the field. His commitment and had work has also paid off. We wish Alaa the best in his new role.
