HR & Payroll Coordinator Autism Ontario is a charitable organization founded in 1973 and is a strong voice for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Autism Ontario has Chapters serving almost every corner of the province. Each Chapter is run by dedicated volunteers and local Chapter Leadership Councils. These volunteers organize and support parent to parent contact, provide official Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) representation for ASD to boards of education, camps and local events. We pride ourselves on our mission to ensure that each individual with ASD is provided the means to achieve quality of life as a respected member of society. HR & Payroll Coordinator Finance Director Autism Ontario Provincial Office – Liberty Village, Toronto 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) (include salary expectations with cover letter)

Position Overview The HR & Payroll Coordinator will work closely with the Finance Team and a wide range of professionals, and volunteers at our Provincial Office to support staff and volunteers and process semi-monthly payroll for employees throughout Ontario. Key Responsibilities: Human Resources  Supporting the management team by responding to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, vacation allotment, as required  Providing administrative recruiting support including resume screening, job posting, applicant checking, reference checking and completing background check  Maintaining accurate and up-to-date confidential employee information files according to effective data management processes  Preparing new hire packages, relocation paperwork, contracts and amendments, and conducting new hire orientations as appropriate  Reviewing employment documents for accuracy and completeness, and following up for outstanding forms  Systematic review and development of current and required operational policies and procedures as they relate to human resources  Assisting with the development, implementation and reporting of internal survey results in relation to HR  Administering employee Group Insurance and RRSP programs  Generating and distributing standard HR reports as requested  Acting as Health & Safety Employee representative

Payroll  Prepare and submit semi-monthly payroll to third party provider  Calculate and track vacation, personal days and other time off according to employee timesheet submissions  Distribute semi-monthly payroll statements to employees  Maintain employee payroll files  Issue and submit Records of Employment for employee terminations  Provide support to accounting team using Simply Accounting or other accounting software  Perform other general administrative duties including maintaining files, ordering supplies and mail distribution  Respond to and coordinate communications with staff, volunteers, suppliers and other stakeholders Qualifications:  Experience working with a charitable organization, volunteers and community partners.  Post-Secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Payroll.  Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.  Demonstrated experience managing multiple funding agreements with a strong attention to detail.  Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders.  Must be proficient with various software including; Excel and Simply Accounting.  Experience working with Ceridian or other payroll service provider.  Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of payroll administration and Employment Standards Act.  Must be self-motivated, innovative and flexible.  Occasional travel to Chapters in Ontario as appropriate and some work required on evenings and weekends.  A valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required from time.
