Job Description CAD Engineer Purpose of Role: CAD Engineer who has experience within Security System/Electrical Engineering to work within our Engineering team. Proficient in Revit or similar BIM building software is required. This role will provide the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and exclusive projects that Restrata are involved with globally. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

Gatekeeper of all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information



Work across disciplines to ensure an overall design fits together and satisfies each discipline’s individual requirements.



Troubleshoot all problems that arise in a rapidly changing digital coordination environment



Develop engineer’s concepts and sketches into accurate models and drawings, through direct communications.



Manage submissions and ensure proper QA/QC protocols are implemented.



Help teach engineers and new technicians the software skills necessary to be successful in their jobs



Manager the work of others (engineers, technicians and external parties) when leading BIM production



Represent Restrata interests in external meetings, written, and oral/presentations



Filter highly detailed model and annotative information into, logically organized, easy to read package



Engage in the development of office or client BIM procedures/standards and facilitate their implementation into projects

Essential Capabilities/Skills: 

Several years of experience preferably in Engineering, Construction, Security or Telecom background.



Proficient in Revit or similar BIM building software.



Knowledge of Navisworks, Infraworks 360, or other parametric, fabrication or coordination tools, would be useful.



Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drawing production tools & Google Sketch Up.



Interest and passion for all aspects of the built environment and how ideas become reality.



Problem Solving - Tackle both large scale/conceptual level and detail/task level problems



Adaptability - able to jump from project to project and stay abreast of all changes.



Communication – must be able to discern the meaning of what other professionals are saying (and describing) and also present information in a way that can be thoroughly considered and understood.



Creativity – Inject “outside the box” or new thinking into both building design and drawing production challenges.



Efficiency – should see a thorough understanding of, or development of, all applications/tools/functions as key.



Time Management – must be realistic about how long tasks will take and reasonably assess if meeting specific deadlines will be problematic.

Qualifications: 

Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or similar building design profession – would be useful, but not absolutely necessary.

Qualities: 

Organized and detail oriented.



Comfortable balancing multiple roles and responsibilities in high stress situations.



Ability to think of big picture implications to individual decisions.



Able to take ownership of any task and efficiently take it to its conclusion.



Proactively check resource data and work of self and others.



Ability to conceptualize and design practical solutions.

Have a positive attitude about the challenges all projects face, and exude a confidence that makes other comfortable handing over responsibilities.
