Job Description Regional Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Coordinator General Description Part-time position (with no benefits) responsible for coordinating with project software/database provider and local HMIS user group, participating in system start-up planning and implementation with new users, and through provision of on-going training and technical support to user group, development of program monitoring and performance reports.

General familiarity and experience with Windows-based PC software applications, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office 2003/2007; Experienced with use of electronic mail (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) and Internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) applications Working familiarity with relational database software programs (e.g. Microsoft Access). Ability to communicate effectively with and support existing and potential clients. Must be ''user-friendly'' and have a customer-oriented attitude. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule.

Desired Skills •

Familiarity with human and/or social service programs (e.g. homeless, aging, mental health, adult protective services, child protective services, etc.).

Primary Duties •

Facilitate the maintenance and implementation of Homeless Management Information System, working with Pathways Community Information Network database vendor and local users to apply Pathways system to tracking homeless program clientele and to support case management work in the Fredericksburg area; Identify existing or propose new program reports needed to provide summary data to user agencies and program reports needed under the HUD implementation grant and on-going federal HMIS requirements. Assist with recruiting new agency users and provide orientation and training of new HMIS users including documentation and re-training as necessary. Travel as needed for training, technical or other support, Work with user agencies to define and implement HMIS in a manner that is respectful of the privacy rights of the individuals described in and served by the HMIS. Assist with public relations and marketing support of the HMIS as required. Complete HMIS annual performance report, annual housing assessment report (AHAR) and work with Continuum of Care committees for Housing Inventory and Point-in-Time counts Additional duties as necessary to assist with the operation and management of the HMIS program.

Interact with clients, visitors, and vendors daily. Interact with elected and appointed officials from the local and state level occasionally. Communicate with clients' technical support staff to resolve computer and telecommunications problems regularly. Assist at special events and public functions occasionally.

Hours, Work Site, and Travel •

Primary work hours are negotiable with selected candidate, falling within the 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

window, with flexibility as required by customer needs and GWRC management; Total work hours per 2-week period are not expected to exceed 64 hours (or 32 hours per week) The primary work site will be the GWRC offices (406 Princess Anne St, Fredericksburg VA 22401) Occasional travel (particularly in the system design and implementation phase) to 3 - 4 user agency sites to support program implementation. Reliable personal vehicle required.

Compensation • Hourly salary in the range of $15 - $23 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. • Mileage reimbursement at prevailing GWRC mileage reimbursement rate (currently $.555 per mile) • No employee health insurance, retirement or annual leave benefits. • GWRC will pay employees social security contribution (currently 5.65%). • Performance will be reviewed every 60 days through the completion of 6-month probation period.
