Deputy Editor Editor-in-Chief, VICE UK

Overview: VICE is the world’s preeminent youth media company and content creation studio. Launched in 1994, VICE now operates in over 30 countries and distributes its programming to hundreds of millions of viewers across digital, linear, mobile, film and socials. VICE includes an international network of digital channels, a television and feature film production studio, a magazine, a record label, an in-house creative services agency, a book-publishing division and a new 24-hour TV channel, VICELAND, launched in in the UK and Ireland in September 2016. The Role: To assist the Editor-in-Chief on the development of world class content for VICE. To contribute to the development of VICE globally, working with the heads of department in other key departments, such as production, marketing and comms. Responsibilities:   • • • • • • • • •

Responsible for helping to set the UK editorial vision for Vice’s online content Help create strategy and content/programming propositions delivering compelling & rich content to our audience on the Vice channels To generate, commission and execute content for VICE at a world class standard. To work with the Managing Editor and the
Content Manager on the scheduling and uploading of all online content and managing CMS/
SEO. To collaborate with the social media team in content direction and content management. To monitor competitor sites and keep up to speed with digital and industry developments. To source freelance contributors. To nurture up and coming talents in journalism to facilitate their entry to VICE. Establish and maintain relationships with VICE contributors and build a network of new writers. To keep regular contact with PR's, attending meetings and representing VICE at press days and industry events. To work on brand projects as and when requested.

The ideal candidate: You’ll ideally have at least two years’ experience at Editor level, within a fast paced digital platform. Other:  
