Coordinator, Communications Hourly February 2017

Job Summary: Assists in the overall marketing and communications of the JAX Chamber. Contributes to the Chamber’s social media, oversees Communications trades, places Chamber advertisements, assists with event marketing, posts Member News on the Chamber website.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Communications and Marketing  Books and schedules advertising and keeps track of Chamber advertising trades  Helps edit and approve communications from Chamber Councils to its members  Assists with marketing of events as needed  Posts member news releases on the Chamber website  Organizes and maintains a database of Chamber photos from events  Maintains and updates the Chamber’s Communications Calendar Social Media  Fields and fulfills social media requests from Chamber members  Creates, posts and shares content through the Chamber’s various social media channels Public Relations  Represents the Chamber, as needed, at community and Chamber events and provides content, including photos as needed for internal and external use  Assists in drafting media advisories and news releases  Manages and schedules blogs on the Chamber website Staff support  Fills in as needed as backup at the Chamber reception desk The above cited duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to the job. Education and Experience Requirements:  BA/BS degree in Communications, Marketing or equivalent work experience  1-3 years experience in marketing for a business or nonprofit Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  Excellent professional appearance, reputation and credibility  Excellent interpersonal skills to work with key business leaders and changing volunteer base  Excellent communication/presentation skills, both oral and written  Strong attention to detail / copy / proofing skills  Strong project management skills with willingness to employ detailed project implementation plans  Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects  Identify innovative ways to implement projects within established timeframes  Ability to work in ambiguous environment  High energy level, self-motivated, and demonstrated initiative 02/03/17
