SUMMARY Critical member of the Central Management Office team; responsible for overseeing and coordinating regional operations within Uplift Education. The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) will provide mission aligned support to educators and other support personnel. The RDO will develop and implement region-wide initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and leverage cost-savings across the region, and will be responsible for creating and implementing professional development for operations directors, operations managers and other key non-instructional staff. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee and coordinate regional operations o Facilitate decision making for key operations issues by developing protocols for Senior Directors o In conjunction with other Regional Directors, Operations Directors and the Facilities Director, decide which non-academic vendors will be included within the network vendor menu, and select vendors from menu to use at schools and provide the Facilities Director with input on vendor performance Develop and implement region-wide initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and leverage costsavings across the region (to include metric driven operations in which data is used to drive decisions) Create and implement professional development and other training programs for operations directors and targeted non-instructional staff Coordinate with the Chief Operating Officer to interview and evaluate potential key operational leaders Lead and coordinate non-instructional initiatives to ensure operations leaders have capacity to measurably improve operational throughput o Conduct individual research and coordinate with other charter management and school district leaders to discover and implement best practices within the region Manage regional budget and payroll process as required o As required, ensure regional income and expenditures align with budgeted amounts o As required, coordinate with CMO finance to ensure the region operates within budget Establish and maintain a culture of operational excellence across the region Revised 2/27/12

Meet regularly with other Regional Directors to ensure that messaging across the department is calibrated and consistent

In conjunction with other Regional and Operations Directors, develop standard operating procedures that optimize operations in a metric related, verifiable way Coordinate with academic leaders to ensure that operational performance throughout the region provides adequate support to academic staff o

Meet at least monthly with key academic leadership

A. or M.S. - MBA strongly preferred) from an accredited four-year university (with 3 - 5 years of managerial experience or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with 6+ years management experience (with at least 2 years of experience managing at a Sr. Manager or Director level). Operations management experience and experience managing direct reports is required. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Satisfactory criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable.
