SUMMARY Responsible for coordinating and supervising school-based summer programming, including STAAR/EOC retesting, credit recovery, and/or any other school summer programs (Big Thought, Jump Start) offered. Employee is responsible for supervising scholars for the duration of their time onsite, ensuring all grades and attendance information is recorded for the summer program, ensuring staff time and attendance information is accurately recorded in TEAMS, and coordinating all program logistics (car line, breakfast/lunch service and duty). The Summer School Coordinator will also serve as a campus liaison for any partnership programming, support scholar and staff recruitment efforts, support scholar classroom management needs, and, in collaboration with Central Office Staff, manage accuracy of summer program data in PowerSchool. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Ability to be in attendance for all dates/times of summer program, once set by school, and to attend mandatory Summer School Coordinator training sessions (scheduled every other Wednesday starting in March); required to be present when scholars are in session • Ability to travel to supported summer school site(s) as needed • Serve as steward of an environment safe for all members of the school – scholars and summer program staff • Supervise all scholar and staff activity while onsite, stationed on campus every day until all summer school teachers and scholars leave • Ensure summer school teachers track grades and attendance of scholars participating in summer programs accurately • Ensure that any earned credits are forwarded to the receiving or home school (i.e. Peak will send grades to Luna if a Luna scholar attends Peak’s summer school) • Ensure summer school staff record working time accurately, and that summer school staff time and attendance information is accurately reported to Central Office staff (i.e. HR, Federal Programs) • Manage SSI/EOC re-testing, including identifying proctors, assigning testing rooms, and preparing materials (i.e. bins, buckets, etc.) • Verify receipt of test materials • Prepare completed materials for shipment, and coordinate with Regional Testing Coordinator for verification • Maintain test security and confidential integrity of assessments at all times Revised 01.26.2016

Coordinate any student/parent orientation and any summer school staff PD associated with summer school, including training summer school staff on testing procedures and security, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards Work with Operations and CMO staff to coordinate summer school substitute teachers, if needed Work with Operations and CMO staff to coordinate meals and meal duty coverage, if using summer meal programming Work with Operations staff to coordinate morning and afternoon car line and car line coverage

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not directly supervise summer school staff members; however, it is responsible for ensuring that time and attendance information for summer school staff is entered accurately in TEAMS for the duration of the summer program. Must have a valid Texas Teacher Certification or be enrolled in an Uplift designated certification course. Must be “highly qualified,” as defined by Every Student Succeeds Act (federal law). Must hold or obtain a driver’s license, and be legally able to operate a motor vehicle. Cannot be a current Content Teacher Leader Must be committed to attendance for the full Summer School timeline

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year College or university required. Current teachers or staff members with testing coordinator experience preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze and apply common sense to understand and to carry out instructions in written or oral form. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, students, and parents required. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should be competent in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and use computer software as necessary.
