The chosen candidate will be dedicated to our run-of-river hydroelectric power plants outside of Pemberton, BC.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Electrical Hydro Station Manager (Operator) will work together with the Operations Team and will be accountable for the following primary duties :
Operate the hydroelectric power plants by way of conducting, and documenting all regular monitoring and maintenance; Carry out all actions required to optimize the output and production of the power plants; Participate in the set-up and monitoring of a Preventative Maintenance program for plant and facilities equipment including the electrical and mechanical testing and repair of equipment; Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings; Carry out all necessary actions for the troubleshooting and resolution of alarms generated by the hydroelectric power plants in order to minimize downtime (availability 24 hours a d ay) when on duty; Perform and/or assist any specialized contractors needed to perform maintenance and repairs for the power plants; Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety standards of WorkSafe BC and Innergex; Adhere to a variable work scheduled and reside at the Innergex residence while at the facility.
PROFILE
Must be a “hands-on”, self-starter; Experience with hydro plant operations is a definite asset; Experience reading and interpreting Engineering drawings, is nice to have; Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings, is nice to have; Have good interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and computer);

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
An Industrial Electrician Certificate of qualification (a definite asset) ; Completion of an Instrumentation and Control Technician (Industrial Instrument Mechanic) Certification of qualification, or Instrument Technologist (a definite asset); Possess a BC driver’s license in good standing as well as a general appreciation for outdoors; Experience with 4-wheel drives and snowmobiles is required (Class 1 drivers licence, an asset).
