JOB POSTING WEB & GRAPHIC DESIGNER The Stephen Lewis Foundation has been partnering with grassroots community-based organizations (CBOs) to turn the tide of the HIV and AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa since 2003. As of 2015, the Foundation has disbursed over $89 million, working in partnership with over 300 community-based organizations on more than 1,400 initiatives in the 15 African countries most affected.

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Communications the Web & Graphic Designer will design, update, and maintain all SLF print materials, websites, online donation modules, eblasts and event materials. They will also support teams across the organization as pertains to their layout, production and design needs. Job Duties and Responsibilities Print production:  

Conceptualise (in collaboration with relevant colleagues) and implement all design aspects of print productions, including photo editing, content layout, version control Prepare all print productions for the printing house, and liaise with the printer over stock selection, and quoting and signoff as appropriate

Online donation systems:    

Build new online donation modules, including systems set up, photo editing, page layouts, page content Update the photo selection, page layouts, and page content for existing and/or renewed modules, in collaboration with relevant colleagues Test and launch all new and renewed modules Provide online donation system usage analysis as necessary.

Websites:   

Design and build new microsites as needed, including all conceptualization (in collaboration with relevant colleagues), coding, photo editing, page and content layout. Build, edit and maintain existing websites, including editing photos, creating sliders and banners, building new pages, and updating existing pages. Provide website usage analysis via regular review of Google Analytics

Email management system:   

Design, test and send all eblasts, in coordination with the eblast list management team Design emails in Outlook as necessary Contribute to eblast usage analysis and list maintenance, as necessary

Events: 

Provide all design and production elements for SLF-run events, including but not limited to wordmarks, letterhead, banners, eblasts, programmes, invitations, sponsorship packs, stage designs.

Team Support:  

Support teams across the SLF in the editing and production of PDFs, Power Point presentations, reports, photo edits etc. Support the Director of Communications and team as needed

Technical Requirements and Qualifications      

Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JQuery, and responsive web design principles Knowledge of web content management systems, including WordPress Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization principles and Google Analytics Experience designing and sending HTML email using email marketing software, such as MailChimp Experience with design and layout, photo editing, colour management, and preparing print files for press
