Job Spec: Marketing / Fundraising Administrator Overview Since 1967 Diabetes Ireland has been dedicated to helping people with diabetes from the very young to the very old. Through its professional staff and network of support branches nationwide, people who have an interest in diabetes are dedicated to sourcing and sharing information on diabetes and related matters. Diabetes Ireland provides a wide array of services which cover all aspects of the condition under the key organisation’s pillars of Education, Support/Care, Awareness and Research. Our Mission is to provide a quality service in improving the lives of people affected by diabetes, and working with others to prevent and cure diabetes. Role Working as part of a team, the primary responsibilities of this role will be to: -

develop, deliver and market fundraising campaigns to meet revenue goals as well as to identify, create and deliver new and dynamic fundraising streams and campaigns.

to assist and execute general marketing for the Diabetes Ireland brand.

Contract: Initial 6 month contract with potential to become full time permanent position. Candidate We are seeking a positive, team player with lots of energy who will work as part of a team across our variety of fundraising projects as well as help us grow our fundraising platforms in new and innovative ways. Ideally, you will have previous experience, be passionate about what you do and have some understanding of the world of fundraising and marketing. Requirements 1 year experience in fundraising or a marketing role. Third level education to degree level or equivalent in marketing / business area Excellent communication skills with demonstrable experience in customer service and public facing activities Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Social Media platforms. Full clean driving license and own vehicle Organisational Ability – strong planning and project management skills with a proven record of working on own initiative and an ability to prioritise Pro-active – generate fresh ideas and creative aspects Flexibility – An ability to adapt to changing requirements and a willingness to support others in their role. Empathy – a proven ability to relate to parents and supporters in many difficult and challenging situations. Duties of Post: Fundraising Manage administration and communication with our individual fundraisers through our TEAM Diabetes Ireland programme and market the programme to recruit new fundraisers.

Work with all individuals organising and running 3rd party events on our behalf to ensure they comply with all regulations and maximise their success. Continually explore and create potential new campaigns/events. Identify and initiate new opportunities to build awareness of Diabetes Ireland fundraising programmes and attract new participants. Manage monthly fundraising newsletter and work to improve its effectiveness Liaise with external supply agencies where appropriate and manage relationships. Monitor market changes and opportunities and competitive activity. Duties of Post: Marketing Manage Diabetes Ireland brand’s social media across the key platforms Work with the Fundraising Manager on all brand marketing for the charity with a focus on marketing the new Diabetes Ireland Care Centre in the Greater Dublin region. Write and distribute press releases Liaise with external PR agencies, design agencies etc where appropriate. Diabetes Ireland Research Alliance Provide support in the co-ordination and development of Diabetes Ireland Research Alliance and its activities. Manage and develop the donor database. Provide support in the various marketing/fundraising initiatives for the development of further diabetes research in Ireland. Act as secretary to the Board of Directors providing up to date financial and other information as required and ensure that relevant follow-up action is completed within agreed timescales. Other Undertake training courses as appropriate maintaining professional competencies. Deal with telephone enquiries as appropriate. Support the CEO in all aspects of business as required. Attend Diabetes Ireland events as required.
