ROLE AND PURPOSE: Responsible for attendance accounting as a part of the PEIMS data submission process for the school district as directed by TEA. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High School Diploma Experience: Five years successful K-12 school district experience Extensive working knowledge of current office productivity software Proficiency and experience in communication, training, organization, and data entry skills
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Plan and conduct training for attendance clerks on attendance procedures and appropriate PEIMS topics. Train new attendance clerks on attendance procedures and policies. Provide support for campus attendance clerks, including providing technical assistance in matters relating to attendance. Set up and maintain a filing system of district attendance records, in compliance with TEA regulations. Assist in the submission of attendance data to TEA through PEIMS. Review TEA reports for accuracy prior to submission. Utilize diagnostic reports during the year and perform error corrections during PEIMS editing process. Maintain knowledge of all current PEIMS Data Standards and TEA Attendance Requirements and communicate changes in attendance regulations to appropriate campus personnel. Verify for accuracy and distribute reports on student attendance. Compile other statistical reports throughout the year as required. Make routine decisions concerning attendance, and assume limited supervisory functions in working as the district liaison with attendance clerks. Perform other duties as may be assigned by PEIMS Coordinator. Provide backup for the PEIMS Specialist and the Transfer Specialist.
