ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW Founded in 1994, IHRFG is a global network of 350+ grantmaking institutions (represented by 1500+ individuals) committed to advancing human rights around the world through effective philanthropy. Our overarching goal is to strengthen the impact and strategic effectiveness of human rights grantmaking. POSITION SUMMARY The Program Manager for Education and Convening will support IHRFG’s diverse membership to critically reflect on their grantmaking practice, incubate and pilot new ideas, and initiate new collaborations. Core responsibilities of this role include designing and executing educational programming and developing relevant resources. Based in New York City, the Program Manager will report to the Deputy Director and work closely with the Program Coordinator for Education and Convening. IHRFG is a small staff of six; the ideal candidate will thrive in a close-knit team environment. Reliability, integrity, flexibility, a quick mind, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and a sense of humor are strongly valued. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  Develop, implement and evaluate member convenings, events and educational activities, including annual conference, institutes, learning visits and webinars  Gather, synthesize and analyze emerging knowledge about human rights philanthropy and integrate it into IHRFG’s educational programming and resource bank  Lead the development and dissemination of digital and print tools and resources, such as case studies, funder “tip sheets,” articles and resource guides  Work with the Deputy Director to build and strengthen partnerships with peer affinity groups and civil society networks in order to develop joint initiatives  Serve as a resource to IHRFG members and the broader human rights and philanthropic community around trends, initiatives and opportunities in the field  Develop an annual budget for the program and track expenses  Support IHRFG’s fundraising efforts by drafting original content for proposals and reports and conducting donor outreach  Contribute to cross-program learning, planning and collaboration  Provide research and convening support to member-led working groups on specific human rights topics EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience working in human rights and/or philanthropy, preferably both  Strong background in program design and evaluation, with experience facilitating groups and/or committees  Experience with information management and resource development

Excellent written and oral communications skills; ability to write and craft materials for different audiences Demonstrated ability to process diverse strands of information and present ideas in a compelling and accessible manner Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining quality and meticulous attention to detail Strong financial management and budget development skills Inclusive, community-focused, and flexible, with experience in working with diverse constituencies Fluency in English required; fluency in additional languages a plus Ability to travel, including internationally Passion for building the field of human rights and for the possibilities of philanthropy as a tool for advancing it
