HALTON HILLS PUBLIC LIBRARY JOINS ONTARIO CLOUD LINKING PARTNERSHIP Initiative will significantly increase available e-books for patrons HALTON HILLS, ON – On Monday, March 19 a new era in digital book sharing will begin for Halton Hills residents. Halton Hills Public Library today announced it has joined a new partnership with Cloud Library and the Ontario Cloud Linking Group. The library will join seven Ontario Public Libraries (Brampton, Oshawa, Guelph, Chatham-Kent, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Whitchurch-Stouffville and Pickering) to link their Cloud Library e-book and digital audiobook collections. Cloud Linking is a feature in Cloud Library that allows participating libraries to grow their collections by sharing their content. Libraries still maintain their own individual collections, but will now share available copies to other library systems. Clare Hanman, the library’s Manager of Content and Technologies, was excited to share the news. “This new partnership will significantly boost the number of e-books and digital audiobooks available for our patrons to borrow, anytime and from anywhere,” she said. “We are thrilled to offer this service, and will continue to share new titles with our patrons and our fellow Cloud Link Partners.” As of March 19th, Halton Hills patrons will have access to over 5,365 downloadable audiobooks and 38,259 ebooks through the Cloud Linking partnership.
