JOIN OUR TEAM Route Setter Route Setters are required to create and maintain the routes and boulder problems of True North Climbing. Route setters must be able to provide creative and challenging routes that represent the quality of product that True North Climbing offers. The ideal candidate will possess a broad technical knowledge of climbing, instructing and route setting with relevant previous job experience. They must also be able to take constructive criticism where necessary and to challenge both themselves and other route setters in their setting. Routesetters also normally work as Climbing Instructors. Specific Duties: - Reports to Head Route Setter - Route and boulder problem setting, including youth routes - Forerunning of routes and boulder problems (their own and those of other setters) - Storing and maintaining holds, bolts and all route setting supplies and tools - Climbing Instruction Desired Experience: - At least 1 year experience setting in a commercial climbing gym - Experienced lead climber who can predict fall zones & read clipping stances from the ground Instructor Requirements: - Standard First-Aid with CPR-C - ACMG or CWA Climbing Gym Instructor Certification - Police Background check This is a part time position. Setting is normally done weekday mornings and early afternoon. Instructor shifts are largely weekday evenings and weekends. Email your resume and application to [email protected]
