Call for Papers: The research papers are invited from esteemed authors for the journal and the last date of submission is 31st July, 2015 for its first issue. Open Learning and Research Communication (OLRC) is a peer-reviewed journal interdisciplinary journal of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University to be published half-yearly. OLRC covers all aspects pertaining to open and distance learning. Call for Papers: Open Learning and Research Communication (OLRC) Instruction for Authors / Authors’ Guidelines: General: Open Learning and Research Communication is a peer reviewed research journal that invites original papers on any research and such others in the discipline of open and distance learning from the academic community. Articles submitted to the journal should not have been published before in their current or substantially similar form, or be under consideration for publication with another journal. All papers must be written in clear and concise English.

Style and Layout: The total length of the paper should not normally exceed 5000 words (maximum of 10 pages in length). All pages should be without page number, header text and footer text and in A4 size, Times New Roman, 12 font size only. Title of the Paper: This should be concise and explain the nature of the paper. Author’s Name: This should include the Surname, one forename of each author spelt in full. 1. Introduction: The Introduction section should be written in a way that it is accessible to researchers without specialist knowledge in the area and must clearly state and illustrate the background to its research and its aims.

Preparing illustrations and figures Illustrations should be provided as separate files, not embedded in the text file. Each figure should include a single illustration and should fit on a single page in portrait format. If a figure consists of separate parts, it is important that a single composite illustration file be submitted which contains all parts of the figure. There is no charge for the use of color figures. The following file formats can be accepted: • • • • • •

Figure legends

The legends should be included in the main manuscript text file at the end of the document, rather than being a part of the figure file. For each figure, the following information should be provided: Figure number (in sequence, using Arabic numerals - i.e. Figure 1, 2, 3 etc); short title of figure (maximum 15 words); detailed legend, up to 300 words. Please note that it is the responsibility of the author(s) to obtain permission from the copyright holder to reproduce figures or tables that have previously been published elsewhere.

Preparing tables Each table should be numbered and cited in sequence using Arabic numerals (i.e. Table 1, 2, 3 etc.). Tables should also have a title (above the table) that summarizes the whole table; it

should be no longer than 15 words. Detailed legends may then follow, but they should be concise. Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order. Smaller tables considered to be integral to the manuscript can be pasted into the end of the document text file, in A4 portrait or landscape format. d) How to Send the Paper: Kindly send your paper / article as a single MS Word document / RTF including text, tables and figures as email attachment to [email protected]/ [email protected]. You are also kindly requested to send all the figures as separate attached file for inclusion in the web version. e) Flow of Article at IJIS: The article at "Open Learning and Research Communication goes through the following steps a) Submission of the article by the author b) Primary review by the editor-in-chief c) Check for plagiarism by using standard software package by the Editor d) Double blind review e) Editing by language editor f) Sending the article to the author for consent g) Receiving the consent from the author h) After clarification (if any)/modification (if any) paper will be accepted for publication Accepted articles: All submissions will be peer-reviewed using criteria of originality, accuracy and quality of contribution in the field. The final decision for publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief upon recommendation of Editorial Board Members. Author will receive one copy of the journal in print form after the issue is published. The article will be published within days of acceptance. Proofs: The proofs will be emailed as PDF files to the corresponding author. Proofs must be corrected and returned to the publishers within 72 hours of receipt; failure to do this will result in delay in publication. Author’s corrections must be restricted to the printer’s and/or factual errors.
