Workshop offers a chance to take a Delta restoration guide for a test run Central Valley landscape project to be discussed during two-day workshop next month

The next California Water Plan Update 2018 workshop will be Tuesday, July 25, in Sacramento. Participants will have the opportunity to add their perspective on the Update 2018 sustainability indicators, metrics, data, and data sources. RSVPs are requested. A webcast will be available. The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) has received word of funding opportunities under the 2017 Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program and the Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program. The funding is provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Details are available on the Cal OES website. DWR is accepting public comments on the draft funding recommendations for agricultural water use efficiency projects. The only project recommended for funding was submitted by the North San Joaquin Water Conservation District. Its request was for $3 million in Proposition 1 funding. The comment deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 2. The State Water Resources Control Board has updated the schedule for the final two public meeting on scenarios for providing affordable drinking water to low-income Californians. The meeting in Fresno will be Thursday, Aug. 10. San Diego’s meeting will be Monday, Aug. 14. The board is developing a plan for a Low-Income Rate Assistance Program, which is required to be released by Feb. 1, 2018. A workshop on the Delta Landscapes Project will give participants the chance to test run a user’s guide for Delta restoration. The project looks at the way the Delta’s natural systems originally functioned, and used that information to achieve better restoration outcomes. The workshop will be July 25, in West Sacramento. The California Landscape Conservation Cooperative (CALCC) will hold the next workshop for its Central Valley project on Aug. 2 and 3, in Sacramento. The Central Valley Landscape Conservation Project works to conserve ecosystems that sustain biodiversity in the valley. This workshop will focus on implementing conservation actions at the basin level.
