Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences (Vereniging Hogescholen)
Expertise and Service Centre for Internalisation in Dutch Education (EP-Nuffic)
Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO)
Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW)
Dutch National Student’ Association (ISO)
Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU)

Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO)
Association of universities in the Netherlands (VSNU)
This Knowledge and Innovation Calendar provides an overview of events scheduled during the Dutch presidency of the European Union in the first half of 2016. Dutch organisations active in the fields of knowledge, education and innovation have put together a variety of events to enhance the visibility of their on-going activities. Representing the Netherlands, these organisations hope to demonstrate how their specific knowledge and expertise contribute to Europe and support the many challenges faced by the continent. Calendar events will showcase best practices in Dutch education, and research and innovation projects. Meetings with subject matter experts and discussion panels will focus on current policy developments in the areas of European education, and research and innovation. Members of Neth-ER (Netherlands house for Education and Research) believe that enhanced investment in knowledge and innovation is vital at both the national and European level. Investments must be made throughout the entire knowledge chain of education, skills, and fundamental and applied research.
The success of knowledge and innovation is measured by global and European impact. But that’s only part of the mission. Knowledge and innovation must be tangible, have impact in regions as well in cities and touch ordinary citizens. The members of Neth-ER, therefore, have placed several aspects of ‘societal impact’ at the centre of their joint multiannual priorities. These aspects are:
Digital Access to Knowledge Smart Impact Innovative Skills
