Welcome Guests! We’re glad that you are here! Please fill out a Welcome Visitor card and place in the collection plate. Go by our welcome/information center (one on each side of the room) for materials that will better acquaint you with Lakeview. For your convenience, during our Sunday morning services we do have a volunteer staffed nursery, for children up to age 3. There is also a training room, located next to the sound room, for parents with young children to use during any service. If you have questions, feel free to approach one of our ushers, ministers, or elders.

I love the theme for this year’s Faith Builders Workshop. It calls us to a place that may be unfamiliar but not a place that is undesirable. When we are uncomfortable, we have an opportunity. If God is stretching you then it is crucial that you be flexible. It is these and other lessons that you will catch as you attend the different classes and keynote lessons that make up this year’s workshop. Some of the key information is included in the graphic below. You will also find specific information of times and locations and topics on the Faith Builders NW Website.

Prayer Requests

Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone in good spirits? He should sing praises. -James 5:13 

Karli Mueller is requesting prayers for her sister, Sidney, who was in a car accident.

Don Mellor is requesting prayers for his aunt, Esther Kolster, who was diagnosed with cancer.

How can you participate?

1. Attend the Workshop. As Lakeview moves forward, we will benefit with ideas and teachings that will fit well with our ministry of small groups and other outreach that we do.

Our Life Groups that started last week, that they will be successful and grow in the way God is wanting us to.

Katie Mayo and her siblings.

2. Volunteer to help with Childcare. As Lakeview well knows, childcare for a function likes this requires loving and engaged servants. The Workshop Leaders have asked if Lakeview could provide a team of people who would be willing to give some time to this good work. There are materials and activities pre-planned. All they need is the people to work the plan and love the kids. Please let me know if you could help. Take a look at the website on the “Children’s Program” tab to see the times when people are needed. 3. Help with the Youth Challenge. The teen program for the workshop takes place on Friday, July 13, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Wes Hanson is the guest speaker (same bearded guy we had last year!!) I am in charge of the program and I will need help with chaperones, Encounter helpers and leading Praise. Please talk to me soon, as I would like to put together a team that can make this happen.

Family News The Thursday Ladies Bible class had it’s last meeting for the spring-summer this past week. They won’t be meeting again for Bible class until later in September. Check the bulletin around then for a start-up date. If anyone has a vehicle available that Dante could use while he is working with us this summer, please contact Dennis or Dante. Sharon Hayden is looking for temporary housing for her Cockatiel. If you are interested, contact Sharon at 253.537.1998. Summer camps will begin at Delano Bay soon. The early registration for STS has already passed. There are some camp applications available back by the picture board. Thank you for all the beautiful cards with uplifting notes of encouragement. Knowing the many prayers you are lifting up to our God for my healing is such a comfort to me. Also, thank you for the meals you have brought to us!! A big thank you to the group of people who got together and pulled weeds and put beauty bark on our beach house yard. What a great blessing to be children of God. Thank you again for begin the servants you are in His kingdom. - Marlene Granberg Dear brothers & sisters in Christ, Thank you for the used eyeglasses that Jean Graham brought us from Lakeview. Food & Clothing Bank…

May is now over and looking back at our numbers for the month... 59 families and 217 individuals were blessed through the Food & Clothing bank. It really is amazing to see all the help we are able to provide these people so we can show them the love of Christ. Thank you again! We will continue to thank you… for without you this would not be possible. Our Needs for the upcoming month: Kid Friendly Snacks Juice Peanut Butter Jelly

Sermon Summaries AM Speaker: Ben Cook Know Thyself - 1 Corinthians 2:10-13 Ancient Greek philosophers spent a tremendous amount of self reflection. The axiom know thyself is ancient, and yet it still sways over philosophers as both a warning and a mission. Paul says that the reason Christians are a mystery to others is that they can never truly understand what motivates us - our life, our code of ethics, and even our reward. This is because we are not only moved by our own spirit, but by the spirit of God. PM: No Evening Service
