We Make Fun
A GREAT 2012! Before we get into anything else in this issue, we want to thank you all for an amazing 2012. We’ve had many releases and your reaction and support of them has been fantastic and we at AEG cannot thank you enough. The revamp of Thunderstone: Advance, Tempest and Love Letter, Smash Up’s success at Gen Con, Guildhall and more, we couldn’t have done it without you. In this issue we take a look at news for Smash Up and Legend of the Five Rings, but if you stay tuned to the end, you’ll get a sneak peek at some of our plans for 2013!
Emperor Edition: Gempukku is the reprint of the most recent base set for the fan-favorite Legend of the Five Rings Collectible Card Game from AEG: Emperor Edition. Gempukku is the rite of passage into adulthood in Rokugan and as such, starter and booster decks are specifically made for new players, while still holding value for existing ones! Join Legend of the Five Rings, as the Empress struggles to keep a firm hold over the Empire’s new territories. • 224 cards starter decks with Common and Uncommon cards from the entire Emperor Edition Arc as well as 2 exclusive cards for each of the 9 Clans of the Emerald Empire. Each starter also contains two Emperor Edition: Gempukku boosters! • 6 card booster packs, exclusively made of Rare cards from the following expansions from the Emperor Arc: Before the Dawn, Second City, Emperor Edition, Embers of War and Seeds of Decay.
SMASH UP II This March Smash Up returns with Awesome Level 9000! Featuring four new factions and 8 new bases, Smash Up II will integrate right into your current Smash Up game, bringing exponential new combinations of factions and playstyles! Smash Up II features: Killer Plants - Better deal with these guy fast, leave them alone and they’ll grow all over the place... like weeds! *rimshot* Ghosts - Unlike just about every card game in history, Ghosts benefit from having less cards in your hand. Can you be immaterial? Steampunks - Can’t leave a good base alone, the Steampunks will add new abilities to bases to help your strategies. Bear Cavalry - What’s scary? A bear. What’s really scary? A cossack riding a bear! Bear Cavalry will use fear to drive opposing minions away to other bases.
More in 2013! We can’t say much about our 2013 releases yet, but we can show a few sneak peek images. We’re not telling anything about them, other than some are subject to change, but they might give you some hints as to what we’re cooking... see you in January!
