Youth focused communications agency Latimer Group receives £1.1m in growth capital to strengthen its team and digital solutions 16 May, 2016 The award-winning Impact Ventures UK (IVUK) fund and a group of angel investors announce they have invested £1.1m into communications agency Latimer Group. Latimer is an award winning agency creating youth opportunity through cutting edge marketing campaigns. The London based Latimer team, founded five years ago, delivers highly effective campaigns for clients such as the Department of Health and ActionAid with the goal of creating positive social outcomes. To date, Latimer has worked with both social and commercial clients, alongside over 50,000 young people across 27 countries. IVUK was impressed by how the agency supports a network of young people via providing training and work experience opportunities. IVUK believes in the strength of Latimer’s collaborative ‘co-creation’ approach to solving client problems – a powerful technique of engaging directly and intimately with a target audience resulting in an authentic, relevant and therefore effective dialogue between any given organisation and those who it wants to reach. Recent examples are a co-created campaign on emotional resilience for mental health charity Time to Change (link here) and the first ever internationally crowd sourced Instagram documentary for Unicef (link here). The investment comes alongside the appointment of a new Chairman for Latimer, Martin Leuw, also an angel investor in the business, who has a track record of leading and backing scalable digital businesses, having grown IRIS Software Group as Group CEO from £9m to over £120m p.a.. Matt Hay, MD and co-founder of Latimer, said: “IVUK is a great fit for us. They understand how a common vision of a team of committed individuals can turn an idea into reality and create meaningful social impact alongside strong growth. We have been impressed with the level of engagement and value add IVUK has already brought to Latimer and look forward to creating a much larger company and powerful impact together.” Raf Goovaerts, Partner, LGT Impact Ventures, said: “Latimer Group is a compelling investment for the Impact Ventures UK fund. We are looking forward to working closely with the two talented founders, Matt Hay and Jack Woodcraft, to scale their business and social impact. We are excited by the opportunity to

connect Latimer with our wider network and have been impressed by Latimer’s response to oncoming changes in the digital media space as well as its tenacious commitment to its social values, customers and to the network of young people it works with.” More information can be found at latimergroup.org and www.impactventuresuk.com Contact details: Jennifer Webb Impact Ventures UK Investment Manager Phone: 0203 405 5625 (ext: 506) [email protected] Legal Disclaimer This announcement is for information purposes only and is not intended to be promotional in any respect.
