ABOUT US LiDan Illustration & Design Studio is a Singapore based company that primarily focuses on illustration and graphic design. We seek to create incremental branding values for our clients by working alongside with them as partners and not just designers.

HISTORY LiDan Illustration & Design Studio is the brain child of Li Dan. In 2005, after graduated from Edinburgh University with a Masters Degree in Illustration she ventured into her own start-up in 2009 and led a team of talented illustrators, graphic designers, web designers and animators with strong fundamentals in illustration & conceptualization design.

Conquest Client: National Library Board Target audience: Teenagers Year: 2011 Creatives: Creative Director – Tang Ho Wan, Designer – Rebecca Ooi, Illustrator – Zhou Hui Project description: Discover Conquest, where legends come alive in a board game. Engage in battles with enemies, complete missions and craft your destiny in this exhilarating new board game. Brief: Conquest is targeted at older teenagers and the key requirement from the client is that the illustrations need to appeal to this age group. Concept: We use a realistic anime illustration style to communicate the seriousness and maturity of the content, but not to the extent that the artwork will look overly mature for the intended age group. Since the story setting took place in ancient Singapore, old parchment texture and some art nouveau graphic elements are applied to the design.

Read Festival 2015 Client: National Library Board Target audience: General public Year: 2015 Creatives: Creative Director – Tang Ho Wan(work partner), Designer – Ong Han Yu & Siti Syazana Project description: Read Festival is the high signature event of NLB’s nation-wide reading campaign, Read! Singapore, with the twin purpose of introducing great reads and the discussion of them. Brief: The client wanted the use of simple graphics and infographics elements for the 2015 festival. Concept: Reading elements icons are assembled together to form the key visual of Read Festival 2015!, along with the use of bright colours. These are applied to all the marketing collaterals for the festival.




Singapore Art Week Client: National Arts Council Target audience: General public Year: 2016 Creatives: Creative Director – Tang Ho Wan (work partner), Designer – Ong Han Yu and Siti Syazana Project description: Reaching out to both Singapore residents and international visitors to promote art appreciation, Singapore Art Week offers a myriad of quality art experiences which span the visual arts, from traditional to modern to contemporary practices. Brief: A series of marketing collaterals that appeal to the programmes’ target audience. Concept: Since Singapore Art Week’s purpose is to promote art appreciation, we went for a minimalist design approach, using an artist’s artwork as a key visual across all the marketing collaterals.




NHG Quality Convention 2012 Client: National Health Group Target audience: Stakeholders of National Health Group Year: 2012 Creatives: Creative Director – Tang Ho Wan, Designer – Rebecca Ooi Project description: NHG celebrates quality annually with a programme that includes a showcase of improvement efforts and projects, highlighting cluster-level efforts to boost the quality culture. Brief: The client gave us free play in coming up with the visual theme for the NHG Quality Convention. Concept: We went for an extended spiral chain of atoms, and DNA molecules as the visual theme for the convention. This concept is applied across all marketing and event collaterals.
