Light Up Your Campus Blue! Shine a light on autism and help raise awareness by joining Autism Speaks to Light It Up Blue on April 2 and throughout April! Visit www.LightItUpBlue.org for more information.

What is Light It Up Blue? Autism Speaks created Light It Up Blue as a way for people around the world to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. Last year, more than 250 college campuses and 3,000 iconic landmarks and buildings in 45 countries turned their lights blue in honor of Autism Awareness Month.

How Can My Campus Light It Up Blue? When lighting up a building, statue or monument, etc., schools can change white light bulbs to blue or place a blue filter over the lights. To purchase blue filters ,visit http://bit.ly/bluefilters.

Can My School Light It Up Blue Anytime During April? YES! The school and local community can Light It Up Blue any time in April as it’s Autism Awareness Month! To receive Light It Up Blue materials, email [email protected] to confirm your school’s participation by March 1!

How YOU Can Celebrate Autism Awareness Month! How to get started: 







Start by downloading the Participation Letter Template at: http://bit.ly/liublettertemplate. Modify the letter with your school’s information, bring to the Student Activities Office and ask them to Light It Up Blue! If there is an Autism Speaks U chapter, Αlpha Xi Delta or Theta Delta Chi at your school, work together to light up the campus blue! Email [email protected] to confirm your participation by Mar. 1!

7 Easy Ways to Raise Autism Awareness: 1. Light up a building, stand out front and hand out fact cards to explain why it’s “blue!” 2. Decorate your school’s mascot in blue swag 3. Ask Greek Life Organizations to light up their houses blue 4. Plan a “wear all blue day!” 5. Host a BLUE fundraiser on campus 6. Have the school place autism awareness ads on their campus TVs and news stations. 7. Table on campus and distribute autism awareness materials
