DETAILED ITINERARY DAY 1: LIMA | INC: Arrival in Lima, meet and greet by the Viajes Pacifico staff who will assist us with luggage and will provide a brief city orientation.. Transfer to hotel and stay in Lima.
DAY 2: LIMA | INC: B We will go sightseeing around the main streets, plazas and avenues of the city. We will start at the Miraflores Love Park with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. We will then have a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial center of the ancient Lima culture. We will continue to the Main Square where we will find the Central Government Palace and the City Hall. We will visit the Cathedral and walk to Santo Domingo Convent, along which corridors San Martin de Porras and San Rosa de Lima used to walk around in 17th century, and where their remains rest today. After that, Lima will surprise us with one of the best museums of the country. We will visit the Larco Museum, an 18th century mansion built on top of a pre-Columbian pyramid of the 7th century. Outstanding are the pottery, gold objects and textiles, in addition to the most complete collection of erotic huacos and mummies of the Chavin, Chimu, Nazca and Inca cultures. Overnight in Lima.
DAY 3: LIMA/CUSCO | INC: B Transfer to the airport for our flight to Cusco (recommended flights between 8am and 10am). Upon arrival, assistance and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the morning is free to get used to the height. In the afternoon we will visit the most outstanding sites of the magnificent center of Cusco, a mixture of Inca and Spanish culture. Our first stop will be at Saint Dominique or the Koricancha (the Temple of Gold), a beautiful convent built on top of an Inca palace. We will continue to the Cathedral to enjoy an impressive sample of architecture and paintings of the Cusco School. Continuing with our immersion into the city, we will visit Sacsayhuaman; the spectacular constructions and surrounding landscape are a perfect mixture. The adventure continues towards Qenqo Sanctuary to appreciate the altar embedded in the rock. We will finally reach the Puca Pucara viewpoint and Tambomachay, a striking architectonic monument considered one of the pillars of the Andean worldview. Overnight in Cusco.
DAY 4: CUSCO/SACRED VALLEY | INC: B/L The Sacred Inca Valley welcomes us this day. On the way we will stop at Awanacancha, a complex where we will be able to feed the Andean camelids, the llamas and alpacas, and also to chat with the local population who will show us their weaving and dyeing of their traditional textiles.
