Updates  CMC participated in meeting organized by government in Hmanji Junction in each Wednesday.  LWF facilitated CMC meeting on 10th March. The meeting was participated by 35 (20 female) CMC members, representatives from camp based committee and social groups and discussed on camp issues  Inter-agency meeting was on 23 March and 36 (16 Female) representatives from CMC, Social Groups (WDG, YDG), UNHCR, CDN, SCI and LWF participated and discussed on camp services and concerns.  LWF accomplished head count survey in camp during the month.  LWF provided visibility kits (Umbrella, T-shirt, Cap, Hand-bag and Shoe) to incentives workers and CMC members on 30 March.  3 letters received from complaint box which was for WASH agency and government.  2 new baby boys born and updated population dash board.  718 (314 girls) students are attending 3 TLS, 654 (308 girls) students are attending in a middle school and 91 (40 female) are attending in high school from the camp.  SCI organized education rules and regulation training for CMC and teacher on 16 March.  CDN distributed food ration and nutrition package to all entitled population on 14 March.  CDN shared that RSB will provide for children under 5, pregnant women (PW) and lactating women (LW) in April.

Key Concerns  CMC started to collect White Card for further renewal process.  LWF will continue its support to CMC and its strengthening process.



CDN will distribute food as its calendar and monitor regularly.

52 long house and 416 rooms are in camp in which, 410 rooms are occupied by 397 families and 6 rooms are vacant. Based on last assessment, 1 Shelter need reconstruction, 6 shelters are in major repair and 41 are in need of minor repair. Drainage construction in the camp is under progress supported by UNHCR. Provided regular WASH services during the month. Conducted WASH training on 3 March and participated by 30 (15 woman) CMC members Organized a WASH meeting on 5 March and participated by 20 (8 female) participants from the camp. Conducted health education training on 11 - 12 March and participated by 200 (120 woman and girls) participants from WDG, CDG and YDG. 397 families received hygiene kit on 17 March. 397 woman bath room and 104 latrine construction has been completed in March. Installed 3 sets of solar panel in the camp.

In the CMC and Inter agency meeting, community participants are requesting to provide clothes and cooking utensils. Shelter maintenance is uncertain due to inadequate resources.

Celebrated International Woman Day with a program on March 8 and participated by 85 (70 women and girls). During the celebration, 3 women (Daw Mar Mar Oo, Daw Oo Khin Mya and Daw Khin May) were honoured by CMC for their contribution and service to the community. Similarly, an art competition amongst 10 girls was held and awarded 3 winners. LWF started to supply newspaper in the community library from this month and increasing access to information. LWF provided 2 football, 2 volleyball, 2 cane balls, rope for tug of war 10 meter, t shirts for players and umpire, whistle 6 and other necessary sports materials to Youth Development Group and CMC. After receiving the sports material, youth group organized sports events in their convenient time regularly. 10 participants of 3 months long tailoring/dress making training attended training regularly and progress is in line with plan. CDN provided fishing net for 25 IDP families and 200 families of host community on 27 March.

Updates  A group of campaigner “People for People” visited camp on 6 March.  CMC meeting was held on 12th March and participated by 33 (23 female) CMC members, social groups representatives and other camp based committees.  LWF accomplished head count survey on 20 March. UNHCR staffs visited on 24 March and monitor CCCM activities. Inter-agency meeting was held on 24th March and participated by 35 (18 Female) representatives from CDN, LWF, CMC, WDG and social groups.  16 sets of CCCM visibility kits (Umbrella, T-shirt, Cap, Hand-bag and Shoe) distributed to Incentive workers and CMC members on 30th March.  1 baby (boys) born and one 70 years old IDP passed away during the month. Updated population dashboard.  Installed TLS visibility vinyl on 16 March.  UNIECF team visited and monitored education activity on 16 March.  From the camp, 109 students are in primary education, 35 students are in middle education and 2 are in high school education.  ECHO visitors visited the camp and monitored education activity on 18 March.  151 families (586 populations) received food ration on March 7.  CDN informed that RSB will provide for children below 5, pregnant women (PW) and lactating women (LW) in April.  SCI conducted a meeting with pregnant women (PW) and lactating women (LW) and discussed about nutrition on 23 - 25 March.  Schedule of health services in camp are as below: Day Agency Opening time Monday IRC Tuesday MM 9 am to 12pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday MOH  217 (156 females) camp dwellers received health services.  One of IDP of 70 years old from LHN 7, RN 4 has hypertension and admitted to Sittwe hospital on 14 March.  Government provided (302 – 2 for each family) mosquito net for 151 household on 5 March.  22 long house and 176 rooms are in camp in which, 151 rooms are occupied by 151 families and 25 rooms are vacant.  Provided regular WASH service in the camp.  Distributed dust bin for 151 household on 13 March.  Conducted hand washing training and attended by 40 (20 girls) participants on 16 March.  Distributed hygiene kits for 151 household on 19 March. Distributed toothpaste for 25 (13 girls) children on 27 March.

 Celebrated International Woman Day on March 5 with different program and participated by 95 (85 women and girls). During the celebration, 3 women were honoured by CMC and LWF for their contribution in camp management. 60 girls were participated in Tug of War and distributed prizes to winner.  LWF facilitate social group meeting on 12 March ad participated by 50 (25 female) in the camp.  LWF provided volleyball, football, cane ball and rope for tug of war. YDG organized recreation activities and participate by 226 (115 girls and woman) participants enjoyed by tug of war, hto see hto and race competition on 14 March.  To increase access in information LWF started to supply newspaper in the community library from this month.  5 participants of 3 months long tailoring/dress making training were attended regularly and progress is in line with plan.  12 (7 girls) enrolled in 80 hours basic computer training  Trained fire safety volunteers are disseminating fire safety massage through micro phone every day evening.

 LWF coordinated a meeting amongst CMC, PI and WFP on 13 March and facilitate to settle the issue on food distribution.  Food ration and nutrition powder distributed on 16 – 18 March.  PI conducted post distribution monitoring on 16 - 17 March  Health services in camp providing as below: Day Agency Time Monday, Thursday IRC 8.30 am – 12.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday MRCS  MRCS provides tuberculosis service every Wednesday.  SCI providing ANC and PNC services.  Some IDPs have suffered from fever and some arthritic.  Township Health Department distributed 2000 mosquito-net on 25th March.  2155 IDP families are residing in the camp and many are in makeshifts which are almost torn out. Some families constructed temporary shelters by themselves.  Boreholes rehabilitation campaign has been completed.  Regular water supply, water-testing at household and borehole level, water boreholes maintenance is carried out.  Weekly mass cleaning campaign and waste management is carried out. Similarly, regular hygiene promotion sessions at HH level and drainage cleaning campaigns were carried out.  13 latrines with concrete floor replacement are under completion and planned to be functional beginning of April.  Latrine dislodging is running normally. Latrines renovation activities were planned to restart during second weeks of March have been delayed to April.  Replacement of 92 emergency wooden pits to concrete pits is ongoing and will be completed by the middle of April.  34 blocks of 4 latrines units have been completed and are now in use.  FGD with protection partner (IRC) and women users groups have been held to ensure appropriate positioning of the lighting at latrines level.  Supplied daily, weekly and monthly newspaper and magazine with aiming to increase access on information, knowledge and engage youth in creative discussion.  Celebrated International Woman Day with different program – brief discussion on IWD, 3 best woman volunteer in the camp and games.

 IDPs requested to WFP/PLAN to provide food for new born babies.  CMC suggested for clear communication and coordination on time.  CMC requested a clinic.

 IDPs request to provide new NFI kits.  CMC requested to LWF to repair CMC office for future. LWF has a plan to renovate CMC office.  Solar light installation is pending as the construction of solar concrete boxes has been stopped by land owners. Meeting between SI, LWF and CMC’s has been conducted beginning of April. CMC’s plan to meet with the landowners to solve the issue. Resume of installation is pending feedback from CMC’s.

 CMC requested to provide fishing net and Trishaw for men, mechanic training and computer training for Youth and sewing training for women and girls.

Awards were distributed to 3 woman and winners.  LWF provided T-Shirt and toys for game for recreational activities.  Major, Myanmar Army, Security camp, Thae Chaung suggested to IDPs to be careful of fire since the season is fire sensitive, and he also suggested to provide plastic bag with full of sand, water bucket for each house.  LWF provided fire safety refresher training on March 6 at Khaung Doke Khar 1.

Updates  RSG provides 15 trishaws to IDPs through CMCs on 31st March.  CMC installed solar light in CMC office.  3 CMC leaders attended the meeting every Wednesday organized by Township administrator Office and discussed on IDP issues.  CMC meeting held on 11th March and participated by 36 (14 woman) CMC members and representatives from camp based social groups and committees and discussed on camp issues.  Camp level interagency meeting held on 25 March and participated by 30 (16 Females) representatives from CMC, CDN, MM, LWF and social groups and discussed on services and concerns.  Initiated headcount survey and accomplished 2 long house surveys during the month. Key Concerns  Some of the camp leaders suspected to head count survey exercise with linking to white card. Latter LWF organized a meeting and clarify the concerns of survey. After clarification, leaders are agreed for survey and will conduct first week of April.  Lack of check and balance mechanism in CMC. Need to establish all committee provisioned by government.  Lack of operating guideline of provided resources (trishaw, tuktuk).  CMCs request to increase the wages of camp based teachers. Qualified persons are not applying for the position and some were left due to low wages.  CMCs request to build B.E.M.S at Manzi junction as most of IDPs of

middle school could afford to access education.

 CMC request to provide special support to people living with disabilities.  CMC members have requesting for a proper hospital with a laboratory to test such as tuberculosis and HIV.

 MHA provided 400 no of mosquito nets, one for one household on 27th March 2015.  CMCs proposed for plantation around the camp which will give shade in summer season.  Government Focal Agency collected the shelter status report for renovation.

 IDP requests to provide NFI Kits, solar light and cooking fuel.  CMC requested to repair shelter before rainy season.

 CDN distributed Hygiene kits for 399 families.  Regular water supply  CMC requesting to maintain minimum WASH services in the camp like Waste Management Pit, water points, drainage, bathrooms, access to menstrual hygiene management.

 Toilets are not PSN friendly.  IDPs request to access the solar light near the latrines at night.

Protection and Community Service

 Camp level Inter-agency coordination meeting held on 26 March and attended by 34 (11 woman) representatives from CMC, CDN, IRC, LWF, CMC and other camp based groups and committees and shared the information.  It is reported that 2 baby girl born during the month.  2 days child protection training organized on 25 – 27 March and trained 26 (3 woman) participants from CMC and PTA.  2 TLS are in vacation stat after water festival.  NFE are running well and 60 participants are attending regularly.  It is reported that 8 (2 girls) students attended the exam of Grade -5 at Thae Kay Pyin School.  SCI is constructing a building for the purpose of education.

 Food ration distributed on 24 March.  Conducted a post distribution monitoring.  It is informed that WSB will be provided for lactating and pregnant woman and children below 5 years effective from April.

 Late arrival of question paper from Thae Kay Pyin School.  CMCs requested transportation facilities to access in B.E.M.S at Manzi junction for their children.  CMCs request to provide first aid kits to TLS and NFE.  Plan request to CMC to verify the WSB receiver population and report.  CMC requested to register new born babies and self-shifted families.  IDPs request to CMCs to support emergency patience and manage a health volunteer in the camp.  CMC requested to provide some special support to disable, chronic and elder as well as emergency patient.  IDP requests to provide NFI Kits, cooking fuel and solar light.  CMCs request to repair the shelters before rainy season.  Woman representative of CMCs request for menstrual hygiene management.  SI request to CMCs to take ownership of infrastructure in the camp and take care.

 Regular hygiene promotion sessions in HH level and On-going  FGD with protection partner (IRC) and women users groups have been held to ensure appropriate positioning of the lighting at latrines level. The installation is ongoing and will run through the month of April.  Daily and weekly newspapers and journals supplied to the library from this month. CMCs issued that it will be very comfortable to place and settle library at a separate place.  International Women Day was celebrated on 5th March, 110 participants were actively taken part with the leadership of CMCs, WDGs and YDGs. 3 women leaders were awarded for their contribution in community, organized noddle and drawing competitions and awarded to winners.  130 Youth and children enjoyed through football, cane ball, volley ball, Thote Sii Htoo and Tug of war sports events organized by YDG in consultation with CMC.  CMC agreed to reform social groups.  None to report.

 Latrines renovation activities were planned to restart during the second weeks of March have been delayed to April  CMCs request to provide the playing toys and appoint CFS facilitator at CFS, provided by the government department. The building have already hand over to CMCs from the government.  CMC raised an issue of livelihood support program in the camp.  Damaged and missing fire points equipment will be replaced in April.

Key Concerns

 CMC meeting conducted on 12th March and participated by 28 (10 Female) CMC members and representatives from social groups and camp based committees and discussed on camp issues.  Inter-agency meeting was conducted on 26th March and attended by 28 (10 Female) representatives from CMC, WDG, YDG, Disable persons, DRC, CDN and LWF. The agencies shared previous month progress and next month plan.  On 29th March, Relief and Resettlement Department provided 35 Trishaws to CMC. CMC provided it for interested IDPs in rent and income will be used for welfare of community.  There are 5(2 female) new born babies and 4 (1 female) deaths in this month and updated population chart.  1 letter received through complaint box which was address to government and delivered to Government focal department.  LWF informed about headcount survey and its objectives.  1,929 (895 girls) students are receiving education sessions from 36 (14 woman) school teachers through 9 TLS.  CMC is providing ferry services from camp to Thet Kay Pyin middle school for students by Tuktuk provided by government.

 Participation in CMC meeting by different interested social groups has been increased. Most of the group’s representatives were asking for durable solution as well as livelihood support to the IDPs and host.  Although, agency representation in the meeting is encouraging but information sharing system needs to be improved among agencies. 

 CDN distributed food ration to 5996 IDPs (1068HHs) on 7 and 14 March.  PI distributed monthly food rations in the camp on 12 March.  Rakhine State Government (RSG) distributed food rations (Rice, Bean and Oil) for 1,029 non registered families in food entitlement list.  CMC shared that, 293 IDPs (68HH transferred from Ah Nauk Ywe, Pauktaw) are not receiving food ration since arrival in Ohn Taw Gyi South. Hence requested to assess the population and provide food ration for those families.  Health service is providing by Mercy Malaysia from 9 to 12 am. There is

 IDPs and CMC requested cooperation between CMC and Food Distribution Committee for effective camp and food distribution management.  CMCs informed that some IDPs of the camp are receiving their food ration from other places due to improper documentation and transfer system and requested to transfer population.  If there is an emergency medical patient,

a health clinic in OTG North for both South and North residents. That clinic service is not enough of drugs for the population of the camp. Doctor could check very few patients during opening hours from 9:00 to 12:00 A.M. Myanmar Health Assistant Association distributes Nutrition for children 2 days per week. On 6th March 2015, LWF coordinated with Mercy Malaysia to provide emergency service for a woman as an emergency case On 19th March 2015, Government distributed 2100 mosquito-net for 2100 families. Regarding technical assessment, 86 shelters are in need of minor repair (floor and wall).

 DRC is implementing WASH activity with regular Camp cleaning campaign and monthly hygiene kits distribution by mobilizing 60 volunteers and community.

One participant replaced due to vacant.  LWF installed 5 fire safety bill boards during the reporting period.
