Updates  LWF facilitated the CMC meeting. CMC nominated women representatives as invitee member to the CMC meeting.  LWF facilitated the Inter agency meeting on December 22 participated by CMC, SI, Police Check Post and LWF.  Family data are under a verification process.  LWF conducted a CMC training on their roles and responsibility.  LWF mobilized 6 incentive workers after orientation, accomplished performance review and distributed incentive.  LWF trained fire volunteers and installed fire kits.  LWF is constructing 4 TLS and 1 NFE center.in the camp.  LWF completed the selection process and assigned 16 teachers for TLS and 2 teachers for NFE.  SCI/WFP distributed food rations in the camp on 15 December 2014.  450 IDPs who came from Sittwe didn’t get food items yet. CMC requested to provide food to these people too.  Action for Green Earth (AGE)/Arche Nova distributed additional food (chili, Onion, Dry fish and turmeric) good for 4 months to IDPs living in the camp.  MHAA is providing health services for one hour - two days a week (Monday and Friday). 21

Key Concerns  CMC requested more fire points in camp because of the approaching dry season.  CMC members request warm clothes, blankets and mosquito nets.  CMC members requested action on complaints that were submitted to LWF.  A large number of children in the camp are not attending school.  



IDPs requested agencies to provide cooking fuel. IDPs requested Save the Children to provide food for new born babies. CMC requested adequate health services in the camp.

Shelter



85 Shelters out of 97 are damaged and need minor and major repairs and maintenance. The CMC building requires minor maintenance. LWF conducted an maintenance and repair assessment and a material and cost estimate is under process. Solidarity International (SI) is providing WASH services in the camp. SI suggested to IDPs to use the latrines gender wise (male and female) and maintain it. SI also suggested to maintaining cleanliness. SI conducted a 2-day (Monday and Friday) Camp Cleaning Campaign each week. SI briefed about importance of camp cleaning efforts and requested to camp leaders to make it effective by mobilizing the community.

CMC members requested NFI kits, especially, warm clothes, blankets, mosquito nets. IDPs pointed out that the roofs, floors and walls of their shelters need repairs and maintenance.

Next week, SI plans to distribute sanitary pads for women. SI plans to prepare drainage systems and construct bathing rooms. CMC requested a fence for the ponds.

Updates  CMC organized their regular meeting on 10 December with women as invitee members.  The Inter-Agency meeting was held on 22 December and 22 representatives from CMC, SC, UNHCR and LWF took part in the meeting.  LWF organized a training for the CMC on their roles and responsibilities.  LWF provided training to fire safety volunteers and installed two fire safety points in the camp.  LWF provided CMC stationary and visibility kits to CMC and incentive staff.  Mobilized 2 Incentive staffs and provided incentive during the month.  CMC office is in modular house.  There are over 20 primary students in the camp.  They are attending the Basic Education Middle School of government at Pauk Taw Township but the road is too muddy during the raining season. Therefore the students have problem to go to school during raining season.  Save the Children is responsible for food in BWCWS Camp.  SCI distributed food rations on 21.12.2014.  CMC member requested food for newly born and to distribute food rations on time every month food because sometimes it id 23

Key Concerns  CMC has mentioned many service delivery gaps in the camp such as Health, Education, Shelter and Wash.  CMC members requested warm clothes, blankets and mosquito nets because of the approaching winter season.

   

The road to go to BEMS from camp is too muddy during the raining season. CMC members requested student kits, uniforms and solar lights because there isn’t light to study at night. CMC members requested food for newly born babies. CMC members requested the distribution of food rations on time.

very late. Action For Green Earth (AGE) )/Arche Nova provided additional food Chili, dry fish, onions etc.for 4 months. There are no health services. If they need service than they have to go downtown to take treatment. One woman is suffering from a heart problem. CMC members said that most of the NFI kits are damaged because they last received NFI kits from SCI in 2013 and no related support since then. Comparatively shelters are in good condition. However partial repairs are required for some shelters. No agency is implementing WASH activities in this camp. There are ponds in camp, one is near the camp for domestic use and another a bit far from the camp used for drinking water. But during the summer season , they have a water problem in camp. There are no water points in the camp. There is no proper drainage in the camp. So, the environment is filthy. There isn’t any agency to implement WASH. No bathing room in camp. So, woman use latrines to take a bath. All of the latrines are damaged now.

CMC members requested any health agency to implement a health program in the camp. CMC members requested NFI kits, especially, warm clothes, blankets, mosquito nets. Updates  Family survey report is under the verification process.  CMC organized monthly meeting, with CMC women members as invitees, on December 9.  LWF facilitated the inter agency meeting on December 24.  CMC was trained on roles and responsibility this month.  LWF trained fire safety volunteers and installed fire safety kits.  LWF distributed stationary and visibility kits for CMC and Incentive workers.  LWF is implementing 5 TLS and 2 NFE in camp and infrastructure is under progress. Teacher training will organize in January second week.  Save the Children International is responsible for Food distribution in camp.  Food distribution was held on 19th December 2014. It was later than expected and the IDP had difficulties to manage as a result.  40 households (393 populations) who migrated from Ah Nauk Ywe and San Na Maw are staying in Nget 25

Key Concerns  The camp is prone to floods and storms and is very isolated from services and markets and the IDPs are not allowed to travel to access the same. It is a miserable place to live with sanitation issues due to a lack of proper drainage.



Access to higher education is needed



IDPs requested food distributions to be on time at regular intervals. The 40 households from Ah Nauk Ywe and San Na Maw requested to be included in the food distribution list for Nget Chaung 2

Chaung 2 and didn’t get any food. Also newborn didn’t get any food ration. MHAA is responsible to provide health service. None this month LWF assessed the shelter situation. Based on the preliminary report, 76 shelters out of 85 require minor to major repair and maintenance. LWF provided shelter maintenance kits for the collapsing shelter in the camp. Solidarity is responsible for wash and supplying water in the camp. Similarly taking care and maintenance of latrines. Solidarity had distributed Hygiene kit in camp on October 2014.

  

 

Shelters need repairs

Due to drying water source, water supply from next month seems difficult. So discussion with Nget Chaung 1 is to be held. CMC members requested the repair of bathing rooms.

CMC training on roles and responsibility was accomplished during the month. LWF trained fire safety volunteers and installed fire safety kits. LWF distributed stationary and visibility kits for CMC and Incentive workers. LWF is implementing 7 TLS and 2 NFE in camp and infrastructure is  under progress. Teacher training will be organized in January - second week. Save the Children International is responsible for Food distribution.  Usually, Save the Children distributed food on the first week of the month but for this month food distribution was on 15th. In the camp 106 families are not receiving food ration in which 26 families from Ah Nauk Ywe and 80 families from May Bone and Min Ba migrated. Similarly, newborn populations are also not getting the food. MHAA is responsible to provide health service.  None this month LWF assessed the shelter situation. There are 4 ponds in the camp but 2 ponds are in use, one is in the New Nget Chaung 1 and another one is in the Old Nget Chaung 1. CMC requested to renovate all the ponds. 13 Latrines were renovated. Bio Compost tank is almost finished. Organizing camp cleaning throughout the year 2014. Solidarity provided the chlorine in camp but community don’t want to drink the chlorinated water because of its smell and taste. 27

CMC requested LWF to conduct the education program soon. Families not receiving food rations are requesting food rations.

Health service in general are inadequate to meet needs Most of the shelters have partial to major damage. CMC requested repair support. CMC members and IDPs asked to maintain latrines because some latrines are damaged.
