Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Shooting in Westminster KFC Parking Lot 17th Judicial District Attorney Dave Young announced Wednesday that charges of attempted first-degree murder have been filed against Thomas Thursby Flynn in the shooting of a man in the parking lot of a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Westminster on Saturday. Jerome Campbell, 49, was shot in the head shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday in his vehicle at the parking lot of the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 92nd Avenue and Federal Boulevard. Flynn fled the scene and turned himself into police on Sunday. Flynn (DOB 08/16/16), of Westminster, is charged with attempted first-degree murder (F2), first-degree assault (F3), illegal discharge of a firearm (F5), possession of a weapon by a previous offender (F6), second-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft (F6), violation of bail bond conditions (F6), theft (M3) and two counts of crime of violence as sentencing enhancers. He was advised of the charges Wednesday in Adams County Court. His preliminary hearing is set for 2 p.m. August 11 in Division 5 of Adams County Court. He is being held on $100,000 bond. The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual committed a crime under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. ###
