Man Charged with First-Degree Murder in Parking Lot Shooting 17th Judicial District Attorney Dave Young announced Wednesday that first-degree murder charges have been filed against Jose Alfredo Ocampo in the fatal shooting of a man last Wednesday. Adams County deputies found Michael House, 29, shot in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel at 5888 Broadway in Adams County on May 4. Ocampo (DOB 09/17/78) is charged with first-degree murder after deliberation (F1), firstdegree murder extreme indifference (F1), attempted first-degree murder (F2). He also is charged with committing a crime of violence and as a habitual offender, both of which are sentencing enhancers. He appeared in Adams County District Court Wednesday for filing of charges. A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. June 17 in Division L. The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual committed a crime under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. ###
