Dear Parents, I would like to start off by saying a huge congratulations to all our MHTS Pupils who took part in this years show 'It's Iconic'. It was great to see so much talent on one stage, with all the children really enjoying themselves. I also have to thank on behalf of Margaret and all the teachers, those who have helped and supported behind the scenes to make this show the best one yet! Please read this carefully as it contains important information for the Spring Term as well as exciting events still coming up in our 2017-2018 Academic Year. I hope you all enjoy the break and look forward to the next term ahead. At MHTS we are striving for excellence and we ask that you help us by ensuring that Pupils arrive in plenty of time for their classes, appropriately dressed and with tidy hair. All of these things contribute to the training that we deliver and to the discipline that is so important in the Performing Arts world. We have another busy term planned which will culminate in our Showcase and Awards Day on Sunday 10th June - more details below! Finally, I would just like to take this opportunity to wish all our Pupils taking various ISTD and LAMDA exams over the next few months all the best. We have had some wonderful results recently so keep focused and make this the best term yet! Best Wishes Michelle
New Studios and Dance Studio Etiquette
THE YOGA STUDIOS Located at 160-162 High Street, Bushey, Herts. TIMETABLE CHANGES Some exciting News! Following the closure of Hot Zen Yoga which was located just a short walk from MH Studios I am delighted to announce that we have taken over the premises providing MHTS with extra studio space. The Timetable for the Summer Term is now available on the Website - please check this carefully for class and venue changes. The main changes are as follows :MONDAYS - Miss Gemma's Primary Ballet and Primary Modern/Tap classes move to YS1 in The Yoga Studios WEDNESDAYS - Miss Natasha's Acting Classes ALL move to YS1 in The Yoga Studios FRIDAYS - Miss Helen's and Miss Michelle's class ALL move to YS1 and YS2 in The Yoga Studios There is some parking on site after 5.30pm but please do not try before this time as there will be no space and you will get stuck! There will be plenty of room for changing and waiting. Due to this reorganisation it means that when MHTS are running in MHStudios the Dressing Rooms will be fully available. The College Students will not have access on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays when MHTS will have priority. This should ease the situation quite significantly and thank you for your patience whilst we have been resolving matters. YOGA CLASSES As you will see from the Timetable we will now be offering Yoga Classes throughout the week. Classes can be booked through the MINDBODY App which can be accessed through the Website and downloaded onto smartphones and tablets. www.the-yoga-studios.co.uk
Classes are included on our main Timetable so that everyone can see what is on offer but please check on MINDBODY before attending classes as there may be changes and/or cancellations. If you would like information about any particular class please look at the Website or contact Shardy -
[email protected] Margaret Howard Studios is a very busy building, with the Theatre College and Schools sharing the Studios and Changing rooms everyday until late into the evenings. POLITE REMINDER Please can all Pupils arriving for class at MH Studios enter the building through the Green door situated at the far right of the Car Park. This door will be opened 15 minutes before the timetabled classes begin. Parents can assist children getting changed but are not permitted to sit in the changing rooms during classes. The Changing rooms MUST be used to store all belongings with no dance bags or coats left in the Studios. It is vital that all rubbish is disposed of using the bins provided and all Pupils must respect the building at all times. If you have any issues gaining access to the building please ring the Office Door Bell and Linda will be able to assist you.
July ISTD/LAMDA Exam Sessions
To all our Pupils who are taking their exams in April & May..................Break a leg!
APRIL 2018 ISTD Ballet Exams will take place with Miss Swain on Saturday 7th April 2018 (Miss Helen will be supervising the day and important information for this session has been distributed in class. Please get in touch via email if you have any further questions you may have before the day)
MAY 2018 ISTD Modern and Tap Exams will take place with Miss Hockaday on Wednesday 30th May ISTD Ballet Exams will take place with Miss Thorogood on Thursday 31st May All candidates being considered for exams taking place on the above dates will receive further information regarding payment and coaching dates when the Summer Term recommences. As usual your exam fees will include coaching where necessary. We are aware some classes were cancelled due to the weather conditions and rather than find time to make these up, coaching fees will be reduced to compensate for this.
PLEASE NOTE - New Grade 2 Tap lesson with Miss Michelle - Monday 6:15pm - 6:45pm will be charged as coaching till the exam has taken place in May Half Term.
You may be aware that higher level ISTD Exam qualifications can accumailate UCAS points please follow the link for more information. ISTD Website We will also be holding LAMDA exams for all of our Acting Pupils. These will take place at the end of June and Miss Natasha is currently organising a timetable but exact dates are still TBC. All Exam results take between 4 - 6 weeks to arrive and will be given out by the relevant Teachers during classes next Term. Certificates and Mark sheets will be kept and distributed together once we receive them all from the ISTD.
MHTS Performers Gala - Shaftesbury Theatre Sunday 20th May 2018 Shaftesbury Theatre, London The Performers are appearing in a Charity Gala in the Shaftesbury Theatre in the West End on Sunday, 20th May 2018. Tickets are available if you would like to come and support them. Any parents of Performers who would like extra tickets please contact the Office through
[email protected] More info for all Performers will be sent out in the new term, however see below details on extra Performers rehearsals to make up for cancelled Snow Day classes.

4:00pm - 6:00pm - Performers (this class will run for 2 hours to allow for Miss Helen and Miss Holly to clean and run the Gala routines) Private Singing with Miss Waleska 3pm - Jamie Campbell 3:30pm - Evie Tillery 4pm - Lana Mulford-Lawlor 4:30pm - Charlotte Ajose We apologise in advance if you are unable to make this date, but hope you can understand how difficult it is to accommodate all Pupils and Staff when the extreme weather conditions left us with no option but to put safety first and close the School.

VENUE MH Studios 154 High Street Bushey WD23 3DH All tickets are £8 with free seating so please arrive early to reserve your place. If you wish to attend the Awards Ceremony and Presentations taking place between the shows from 4pm, tickets MUST be purchased as limited seating is available so book fast to avoid any disappointment! We will also have a fully licensed bar open for both performances. There are two ways to book, the first option is to head to www.margarethoward.co.uk where you can click on the tab 'Shows' that will re-direct you to the upcoming shows page where tickets can be purchased. Or alternatively, for the direct link Click Here ALL Performance classes are involved - Performers, Hip Hop, Street, Jazz, Singing, Musical Theatre, Acting The Showcase will be a display of recent Exam work and all classes will be notified after Easter as to who will be performing. Tickets will be available to collect from Linda in the School Office from Monday 4th June, alternatively they will be available to pick up on the door when you arrive for each performance. If you know your child WILL NOT be able to take part in this years Showcase please do get in touch because if we do not hear from you, it will be assumed they will be involved. Even if your child is not performing in this production, it would be great to have the support of our Pupils and Parents, cheering our fabulous cast on from the audience.
