Upcoming Blackboard enhancements make date accuracy in Blackboard all the more important. You can conveniently manage your courses due dates using the tools below:

 For setting dates for the first time, you can set them all from one location by utilizing the Set Grade Center Due Dates tool. You can view further instruction here.

 For changing the dates in a previously taught course, you can quickly/easily adjust existing dates to line up with your current term by utilizing the Date Management tool. You can view further instruction here. Both tools can be used to review your current course dates to ensure their accuracy. Course dates can also be reviewed in the Grade Center by selecting ‘Column Organization’ under the ‘Manage’ dropdown.

Over the years, my classroom teaching style has drastically changed from primarily lecture to active student participation. Doing my own research regarding teaching and learning and attending workshops and seminars that emphasized teaching strategies and different learning styles, my classroom teaching involves a variety of teaching styles to enable all students to learn. My goal is to get all students involved through class discussion and group work. I design anticipatory sets, develop daily lesson objectives, present the lesson, check for understanding, give the students guided practice, review the lesson, give assignments, and then provide immediate feedback during the next class meeting. With my development of new teaching strategies and the addition of new technology, I take the textbook readings and put them into real life situations that connect with the students. I require students to read selected books and have them relate how these readings are relevant to them now and in their future. I continue spending many hours outside of the classroom to listen to my students to get to know their interests, their families, and their goals in life. In helping all students try to be successful, I even work with students that are not currently in my classroom or my advisees, but are students seeking my leadership guidance and support. It is extremely important for teachers to be a positive role model for students – personally and professionally. It is extremely important for teachers to educate students through active learning to be aware of pertinent information to enable the students to be successful in their college careers, to be successful in their preparation for the world of work, and ultimately for them to be successful in their career. It is an amazing feeling to have a student seek advice for the future, and by the end of the conversation say, “You have changed someone’s life today!” Personal Information I am married to my husband, Charles, for 45 years. He graduated from Peru State College in 1971 and taught for three years and is now engaged in farming and absolutely loves to farm. We have two children. Our son, Jay, graduated from Peru State College in 1996 and is currently the President of DuraTech Industries in Jamestown, North Dakota. He is married to Michel and they have three children; Reis 12, Max, 11 and Benet, 10. Our daughter, Sheri, graduated from Peru State College in 2002 and is currently an Associate Professor of Business at Peru State College. She is married to Kyle Ryan who is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science. They have a son, Ian. My brother, Larry Green, and my sister, Mary Jane Green also graduated from Peru State College. Our parents made sure we had the opportunity of attending and graduating from THE BEST COLLEGE EVER! Yes, we are proud to be PSC Alumni! Lastly, I would like everyone to know that the best title ever is........GRANDMA!!!!
