MBA Director’s Message

Welcome to the 2015 - 2016 academic year. I hope that you had an enjoyable summer. I am excited to announce the launch of two new graduate programs this year. The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program prepares students for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exams, the premier certifications in the finance field. The Certificate of Graduate Study in Accounting (COGS) is designed to allow students to expand their knowledge in specialized accounting subjects as well as obtain additional courses needed to reach the 150 credit requirement to be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). As always, careful course planning is an essential part of pursuing your MBA. Please be sure to schedule time to meet with me. I am located in Bunce Hall, room 206. RCB Welcomes New MBA Students

Dr. Pontes, along with MBA alumna Stephanie Brigandi and MBA student Matthew Slevenski welcome new MBA students, Stephen James and Jaimelynn Kisthardt at the Rowan MBA networking event. During the first week of classes, MBA alumni, current students, faculty, and staff welcomed new MBA students at the Courtyard Marriott on Rowan Boulevard. MBA Director, Jim Jordan expresses the importance of having the networking event at the start of each year: “The purpose of the event is to extend a warm welcome to our newest students and to provide an opportunity for students to build bridges with faculty and returning alumni.” New student, Jaime Kisthardt, appreciated the event: “The MBA Networking Event provided me with an opportunity to engage with other MBA students and faculty as well as successful alumni of the MBA program. It was extremely valuable to be able to interact with people involved with the MBA program and helped extend my personal and professional network. The MBA Networking Event was very insightful and made me feel more connected to the college as a whole and valued as a student.” Thank you to everyone who attended! MS in Finance Program to Launch Summer 2016 The Rowan University Rohrer College of Business is excited to announce the launch of the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) Program. It is a rigorous program that combines quantitative techniques with practical experience. The program consists of ten three-credit courses (30 credits total) that take fifteen months for full-time students to complete. Part-time students may extend beyond 15 months. The program is designed to prepare students for financial analyst and financial planner positions in corporations and financial institutions. An objective of the program is to help prepare students for the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CFP (Certified Financial Planner) exams, the premier certifications in the finance field.

The program will provide access to residents of Southern New Jersey and the Philadelphia region.
