Small Craft Group Visit To Irish Lights During the visit, RIN members will be given a tour of the Irish Lights HQ and Buoy Yard. There will be presentations on Irish Lights strategy; the use of AIS and Twitter to promulgate live MetOcean data from CIL’s aids to navigation; and Rescue 116 Operations. Subject to service commitments there will also be a visit to ILV Granuaille. There is no charge for this visit. However, prior booking is required. For further details please see RIN website.

East Midlands Branch Event - Anderson Memorial Lecture Tim Allen, Former RAF pilot and current test pilot. This is an annual combined lecture with the RAF Cranwell branch of the RAeS. Tim Allen served as an RAF instructor and operational pilot, leading to military and then civil test flying. He was the senior military test pilot for Sea Harrier and Harrier during intensive trials in support of the Falklands War. Tim Allen’s talk is entitled “Flying for Life” and includes critiques of the various aircraft he has met. Wine will be available before the lecture from 1900.
