Membership Internship Description

The International Leadership Association is seeking a Membership Intern to assist in database management, research, and administrative support. The intern will report directly to the Membership Manager and work closely with our staff and members. Duration: The majority of the work will be completed during the Fall 2017 semester. Intern could start earlier if they desired. Outstanding performance may lead to an opportunity to extend employment after the internship ends. Hours: During the semester, we would expect 10‐20 hours a week. A typical work schedule would be 2‐3 days a week in the office. Schedule and teleworking are negotiable. Location: ILA is located in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. We are steps away from the Silver Spring Metro Stop. Duties and Responsibilities: • Database management (using our AMS MemberClicks) including adding new information, updating existing information, and general upkeep of member records. • Administer membership email inbox for membership service, renewals, and acquisitions. • Answer RFIs (requests for information) providing follow up as necessary and working toward resolving member inquiries. • Daily processing of renewal and new member payments received directly to office. • Administer the monthly emails to expired and new members. • Assist with administering the webinar programs. • Research leadership education programs at universities; corporate universities; and masters and Ph.D. programs that have leadership courses. Qualifications: • Attentive to detail. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including customer service skills. • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects. • Excellent problem solving and people skills. Ability to work in a team environment and interact with members and the public. • Proven research skills. • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
