As we come closer to the end of what I’ll describe as an amazing year, it’s a  great pleasure to see how we have all worked together in achieving so much  at  the  branch  level  through  out  the  year.  I  want  to  specially  thank  the  wonderful  and  hard  working  committee  and  all  our  members  for  your  co‐ operation and contributions. As we wrap up for 2012 I hope that you all have  a  very  exciting and restful  Christmas and I look forward  to an  even  greater  2013.  We have had very successful events from January and as the year is coming  to  a  close  we  have  the  more  great  stuff  of  major  significance  a  special  chemistry  lecture  hosted  jointly  by  the  Royal  Society  of  NSW  and  the  RACI  NSW  Branch  “Liversidge  Lecture”,  which  is  next  Mon.  19th  November,  all  RACI  members  are  welcome  to  the  “DIAA/AIFST/RACI  Christmas  Party”  on Fri. 23rd November, other events are “Investigating and Managing OOS  &  Deviations  Seminar”  (Pharmaceutical  Science  Group)  on  Mon.  26th  November,  and  the  “Organic  Chemistry  Group  One‐Day  Symposium”  coming up on Wed. 5th December. Please register.  Also,  be  aware that the  Analytical  and Environmental Chemistry Group will  have its AGM next Tuesday 20th November, the Pharmaceutical Groups’ AGM  will be  on  Monday  26th November, and  the Chemistry Education Group  will  have a Christmas meeting on Tuesday the 27th of November.  A  special  thank  you  to  Neeraj  Sharma  for  accepting  to  be  our  new  Nyholm  Lecturer.  We  welcome  Neeraj  to  his  new  role  and  hope  he  has  an  exciting  time in the next two years delivering the Nyholm lecture series.   Thanking also Nick and Matthew from Callington Haven for hosting our  committee meeting in October

New Nyholm Lecturer 2013 & 2014 Many thanks to Neeraj Sharma, AINSE Research Fellow and Lecturer, School of Chemistry, University of New South Wales, who has taken up the role of the Nyholm Lecturer for the next two years. The topic will be Batteries/Electrochemistry. We look forward to an amazing two years. Our out-going Nyholm Lecturer, Joseph Bevitt, will be giving his last Nyholm Lecture at 4:00 pm on the 28th of November 2012 at Canberra Grammer School.
