Oracle Taleo Legacy Onboarding is in the sunset of its life.

Oracle has announced the end-of-life for Legacy Onboarding and the end of maintenance for the features as of December 31, 2015. Are you ready to make the move to Onboarding (Transitions)? We’ve compiled a list to help:

Familiarize yourself with Onboarding (Transitions).

Take the Onboarding (Transitions) Administration training. Attend the Onboarding User group meetings and ask questions of other user who have already migrated. Search Onboarding migration and review posts on the Oracle Community site. Review the release notes.

Review your current state. Are your process maps current? Use this time wisely by reviewing your current processes for bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

Make note of all users that have Legacy Onboarding permissions and document. Their permissions will need to be updated to allow access to Onboarding (Transitions). Update all your Onboarding documentation. Document any duplicate user-defined fields (UDFs) that were created due to the separate databases and their locations on your user-defined forms and PDFs. After the migration you will retire these and move to the original recruiting UDFs. Pull copies of all your tokenized PDFs to ensure you have them on your desktop. You will need to re-tokenize all PDFs and upload them to the Documents section in Onboarding (Transitions).

Think about the replacement for your New Hire Portal

With Onboarding Transitions comes the ability to leverage your existing career sections and/or the opportunity to create an Onboarding only career section as your new hire portal. What will fit your needs? New Content Page feature allows for multiple content rich pages throughout your process. Review your current processes and think about where content pages might fit. For example, you may want a Welcome page at the beginning of the process.

Get your technical resources lined up.

Your Onboarding export and Imports will need to be updated to map to the Onboarding (Transitions) entities.

Talk to your Oracle Validated Integration Partner.

Ensure your OVI is certified for Onboarding (Transitions). Your existing service will not copy over.
