Minnesota Chamber Leadership Fund PAC endorses Pawlenty for governor Cites his support for pro-growth economic policies as key to Minnesota’s future
ST. PAUL (7/2/18) – The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Fund PAC today endorsed Tim Pawlenty for governor in the Nov. 6 general election. “Our next governor must provide leadership and vision for growing Minnesota, positioning our state to embrace a fast-changing world economy for the benefit of all Minnesotans,” said Doug Stang, PAC Board chair. “We are excited about Tim Pawlenty’s vision for future. We believe the state’s next CEO must be willing to listen, work with the Legislature, make change, and balance the interests of the entire state. Tim Pawlenty is best positioned to deliver that for all Minnesotans.” Candidates from each of the major parties were invited to be interviewed. Lori Swanson declined to seek the endorsement. “We are grateful to all of the candidates who shared their ideas and positions on important economic issues,” Minnesota Chamber President Doug Loon said. “Minnesota will elect a new governor for the first time in nearly a decade, and the State Chamber looks forward to working with our next chief executive to advance and protect our business climate.” The endorsement followed an exhaustive process by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce to seek the individual most qualified to grow Minnesota’s economy. The Minnesota Leadership Project, launched a year ago, engaged business leaders from across the state to help identify and frame Minnesota’s challenges and opportunities and identify individuals with the leadership characteristics needed to win and the courage to govern effectively. The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Fund PAC is a state-registered political action committee. The PAC represents supporters from across Minnesota organized to promote the election of pro-business, pro-jobs candidates to offices in Minnesota state government.
