Monthly Highlights
DRC have taken over CCCM roles and responsibilities in Sin Tet Maw since midOctober 2015. They will implement basic CCCM functions for the remainder of 2015. Save the Children Child Protection team held a Child Risk Drama Show in November. DRC CCCM plans to establish a Camp Women’s Association (CWA) in STM within the next two months. The CMC has given their support for this initiative.

During the monthly joint CCCM/CMC meeting, the CMC members raised the issue of fuel shortages in the camp. They mentioned that ICRC had plans to distribute fuel in the coming weeks and until then IDPs were mostly burning garbage or plant matter for cooking fuel. Also during this meeting, the CMC mentioned that the clinic runs regularly on Tuesdays, but that Thursdays are not as regular.

DRC-CCCM organized the camp coordination meeting with CMC members, community members, and service providers on 17 Nov 2015. The CMC and DRC CCCM held a joint monthly meeting to discuss camp issues on 12 Nov 2015. The DRC CCCM team conducted focus group discussions (FGDs) with adult/elderly men, adult/elderly women, youth boys, and youth girls during the month of November. DRC is currently in the hiring process for one CCCM Field Office Assistant and 5 CCCM Incentive Workers in the camp. The CMC reported that an estimated 20 solar lights in the camps were damaged and in need of repair. The CMC reported that one of the main drains in the camp does not allow the water to flow properly because the contractor never finished their construction project.

During their joint DRC/CMC meeting, DRC spoke with the CMC to discuss the establishment of a Camp Women’s Association (CWA) in Sin Tet Maw. The CMC supported the idea and DRC plans to move forward with the CWA formation within the next two months. CCCM will conduct a training on “Basic knowledge of Protection” to CMCs at the end of December.

DRC CCCM will organize a training on CCCM role and responsibilities for service providers facilitated by IOM. Date and venue will be confirmed in the coming days.
