The Role: VICE.com is seeking a motion graphics designer to work with our Snapchat team on creating content specifically designed for mobile audiences. We’re seeking a professional who is not only just a talented motion graphics designer but someone who has a strong editorial sense for short-form storytelling and visual communication. Responsibilities:
Create unique Snapchat assets. Conceptualise, develop and create new and interesting storytelling formats. Liaise with Editorial on content selection and programming calendar. Find innovative and creative ways to improve performance through design; use analytics to inform creative decisions and evaluate performance. Transform a variety of word- and photo-based editorial content into visual storytelling formats. Understand the VICE editorial tone of voice when making creative decisions. Apply editorial judgement when designing stories of a sensitive/controversial nature. Understanding of competitor's use of social platforms. Liaise with the R&C team on use of photos and music for production of assets. Package and distribute assets for international VICE offices to use.
Experience:
Masterful use of Adobe CS. Motion graphics, UX and interactive design experience. Ability to work under strict daily deadlines. Impeccable design and presentation skills. Strong Illustration experience a plus. Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem solving skills. Deep understanding of vertical/mobile content. Familiarity and enthusiasm for the VICE brand and it’s editorial mission. Experience using Cinema 4D is a bonus but not essential.
